One of my headlaps has some type of oxidation on it. The other lamp was replaced and the old lamp is not as bright as the new. It is rather annoying. It looks like little flaking bubbles on the surface.

My first question, what are the chances of getting the old lamp replaced under warranty? Is this acceptable wear for a car 18 months into the warranty?

Second, why are the heap lamps not made of glass. These retail for $995, surely it cannot be a cost issue.

H L housing units are covered under GM orig warr, not under GMPP because of cosmetic rule.

Bulbs are covered. My top bulb (2.5 inch) seemed like it had a series of built-in scratches on its lens. Dealer replaced it under warranty--during my last week of orig warr.
