: Skidplates are a pain in the ass, and so are the people who work at VIP.

I got a new 02 sensor for my blazer. At about 10:30 last night, I crawl under the beast to change it. First thing i notice, New transmission, would be nice if my pop told me that:annoyed: . Next thing i notice, origional 02 sensor. The dealership cheated my dad by saying that they put a whole new exhaust on when they changed the catalytic converter back only! I was not too happy. Skid plates suck when you are doing repairs. I had to wrap my arm up inside the plates so i could get to the connectors and then after i got it undone, the new Bosch one liner wouldn't fit in the triple prong, now im fuming mad. So I figure i gotta put the old one back in. Well its so old that it won't snap in. I start swearing so loud that people walking down the street can hear me in my rage and start walking faster (yes old people go out for walks late at night round here.) So conviently the correct one costs 50 bucks. Bastards. VIP sucks. I think it stands for Very Idiotic People. Kinda like NAPA stands for Need Another Part *******.

Your Dad got you a new transmission? I would be happy about that! Maybe he was going to suprise you for your Birthday? :p

I would leave the plate off unless you are going to be treking through the Rockies or something.

Those places are businesses. They don't care if you have to pay for a part, because they know you need it. ;) Watch out for your neighbours, you might get a reputation. :tisk: :D

Nice looking rig. However, the engine on your Caddy outside looks cleaner than the Blazer's. :shhh: :coolgleam

When I owned my 1991 Grand Marquis it had 220,000 kms (136,000 miles). I talked to several cabbies who drove similar cars and with maintenance they said they can easily get 600,000 kms or 373,000 miles! So that is amazing mileage. your Dad must do many oil changes. I'm betting you went through about 3 alternators, 2 starters, etc. But no major engine trouble.

I'm sure that the brushes in that alternator would have been worn down by now!! He probably had it rebuilt? :hmm:

Nope, still good. Surprising huh. Vehicles typically last longer if they are highway miles.
