ok i have an 04 srx. i used to have a nissan armada and when the brakes were getting worn i would here the sensors in the brake start to squeal. will the same thing happen with the srx? i just feel that my brake performance is detoriating but i am not feeling any vibration in the pedal nor am i hearing any sort of squealing. any info would be appreciated.

OH, you'll know it! Either squealing, grinding, or likely both. Mine went at 28k all at once; cost me all 4 pads & rotors.

No squealing or grinding with the wifes 04. We had the rears replaced at 48500 when the tech said they were almost ready to start squealing. The tech said we could get maybe another 10000 from the front, so next oil change we'll have the front done.

*Just got out the repair order: It cost 182.50 (parts and labor) before tax to turn the rotors and replace the pads.

$400 all around, but that was parts only---my son is an auto mechanic. (I added another $100) :)

Was that brake service done at a Cadillac dealer? For some reason, I thought the dealer charged many more$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Yep, Otto Cadillac in Colonie, New York. The main reason the fronts are fine is that we had a brake vibration back in the mid 20,000 mile range and they replaced the front pads and turned the rotors on warrenty.
