: Niagara Falls

So I've been making trips to Buffalo every year for about 13 years. Almost every year we head up to Niagara Falls. This year, we spent a long weekend and stayed at the Falls instead. It's easier to shoot up to Toronto.

In 13 years, I've never seen an area grow so fast. Toronto has grown but Niagara Falls has been totally transformed on the Canadian side. The US side gets more depressing every year. But I remember the Canadian side having the Skylon and Minolta towers and the main drag where the tourist shops were.

Now, it's huge casinos and towering hotels and a redesigned riverfront. The area stretches further down the Falls and progresses inland. I think this place could come to rival Las Vegas in coming decades. It's right on the US/Canadian border. It is already an attraction and it would attach Toronto to the US Northeast.

I'm seriously thinking about exploring investment properties in the area. I just don't see how it won't pay dividends...

I agree, I've been going up to the falls all my life since I was a kid, in the early 60s. The Minolta tower used to be the end of the world there with nothing after it. This year I could not believe it. total development with no end in sight. It's kind of sad, I liked the old but you can't stop progress. Also miss the old Niagara Falls Museum, can't believe that's gone.

With the towering hotels, it's got a more imposing skyline than many small cities. Yet, if you drive just a few blocks, it's old Niagara Falls. I see that changing rapidly.

This past summer Jay Cochrane was up there doing two walks a day, The guy is in his 60s! He's trying to get permission to walk over the falls but so far no good.

Because there's a greedy ass landowner that owns most of the downtown property already and he refuses to sell it or give it up because he thinks there's going to be some sort of rebirth but nothing is coming and he refuses to do anything with the land.
