I'm swapping engines in my Eldo and I'm trying to figure out whick engine I got. I don't have the vin# the engine was pulled by someone else for a Fiero swap. I have can numbers 1647435 for the left intake and 1647437 for the left exhaust. Anybody know what that equates to vin 9 or Y?

Go back in the Performance section a page or two or three and find AJxtcman's post entitled "Northstar cam specs". It's all here, been covered forever. Search.
The VIN derivative is stamped in the pad at the "right front" of the block. Passenger side, in front of their right toes........

Thanks, I'll look for that thread. What is the vin derivative?

8 or 9 digits and letters which are the last part of the complete vehicle original VIN. With that info, a dealer can go into the GM database and tell you the whole VIN and car options.

The cam numbers were the same so I'm good to go.
