You should a do a forum search, there are numerous threads on this, some including sound clips.

The decision comes down to (1) which sound you like; (2) your tolerance for drone at highway speeds; (3) what headers/cats you are going to use, if any; (4) quality, reliability and potential post-installation problems; (5) price; (6) customer service of the supplier; and perhaps some other considerations that I have forgotten.

Magnaflow is the most boom for the buck.

B&B 3" dual cat with resonators...loud enough at idle or when you go...soft enough inside.... Had an infinity driver come over at idle and say, "Sounds like a muscle car V-8!" ... I told him it was a muscle car V8...and that he should not drive rice rockets if he likes that sound... :)

No need to do a search or ask questions, just go get a Magnaflow.
J/K
The Magnaflow has a nice deep sound.
Drone? You'll hear it cruising @ about 60 to 75 in 6th. Change into 5th and its gone. I often keep it @ 80 and you dont hear it at all.
Fit and finish may be a little better on the corsa (you have to play with the Magnaflow to get the tips just right).
I picked it because I like the sound, but when I only paid $543 shipped (thanks to this forum), that just made it sweeter.
PS I dont plan on getting headers.

I have both setups (track and street).

Why I have the track I have no idea other then it is bitchin when you want to be outrageous.

Also, I had a CORSA but with a maggie it didn't breath right.

I have the x-pipe on for street use and I think it's perfect. But I don't have headers.

DMH cutouts... scare the sh*t outa children when u wanna be rediculous, and cruise silently on road trips when u wanna sound stock... simple rocker switch inside the car activates the motors on the cutouts, takes approx 3 seconds to fully open/close

I want to do that one day with my B&B. B&B when I want to be loud, no exhaust when I want to be REALLY loud. There doesn't need to be a "quiet" option :D

kooks-corsa here and love it...thinking about replacing the corsa rez with an X-pipe :elvis2: the corsa is starting to rattle but would like to have it all welded up...

My personal opinion on aftermarket cat-backs is to skip them and get long tube headers instead. The price isn't much higher, but the performance gain is much better.

Magnaflow is the best all round. The B&B is way too loud and the Corsa sounds like rattling can on back pressure. I had all three.:crying:

way too loud

There's no such thing! :D

I will admit that the B&B especially with the x-pipe drones pretty loudly depending on your speed and gear. Personally, the droning doesn't bother me that bad. When my g/f's in the car I just hold a lower gear for a longer time and no droning.

B&B, Resonator, B&B long tubes, B&B hi Flow cats.

Civilized, deep, NO drone, wakes up at WOT. What a great sounding car with this setup and I would not switch.

You should go out and look and listen but the Magnaflow seems to be the best for the buck. I didn't pay full ticket for my setup because I went used on the cat back and got a good deal on the headers and cats (Thank you Rick (StealthV))

Looks like a BIG pair of stainless steel sewer pipes underneath with the B&B.

I heard the Corsa and Magnaflow side by side, while both sound great, I thought the Magnaflow had a cleaner sound. I will say if you're into crawling around on your knees and looking underneath, the Corsa looked better at least the part you can't see... The pipes and cans on both look great.

Corsa @ WOT = :cloud9:.

Magnaflow at WOT is just as :cloud9:, only you have 5 bones left over for other mods like CAGS and short shifter. With those 5 bones you also got to pay people to put all three in, just in case you're one of those that doesn't like to crawl around under cars.

Exhaust sound is up to the desires of the owner. Anyone that says "this one sounds great and that one is too loud or too quiet" isn't giving you anything but their opinion on car sound and their opinion may suck compared to what you're looking for. It all depends upon what YOU are looking for in the sound out of the car.

1 7/8" D-port Kooks w/cats (both are Jet-Hot 2000 coated) and Corsa cat-back.

Totally civilized in the cabin, but really shrieks at 6800, especially on a chassis dyno inside a steel building.

An improvement in the Corsa system would be stainless band-type two-bolt clamps, other than that, the fit and finish was very good.

Later on, I may try a homemade x-pipe to test sound quality :yup: and if it's not too rude, have an x-pipe made by Burns Stainless.

I think I've heard all the after-market systems with my own ears except Zoomers. All are better than stock. I have the Magnaflows mated to Kooks headers and I love the sound but still wish it was louder. If you even think you might want headers later make sure what you buy will mate up.

You can have my magnaflow for $350....

CBVLS6

I personally mod my car for horsepower gains, I got my magnaflow for 650 shipped, and my kooks 1 3/4 w/ cats for 1200.

With the money I saved on the exhaust I can get the car tuned and add a intake. The Magnaflow is a good product, I have nothing but compliments about its construction, sound, and durability, all at almost half the price of some of its competitors...

IMHO.. Take it practically, look at the +hp/$cost ratio.

Good luck

I was very surprized by this setup.
It's very plesant sounding.
Not at all obnoxious.
Just an understated meanness.

It got the attention of a group of Z06 owners when they heard it rev. :D

I'm debating ditching my Corsa for a 3" B&B w/ Resonators.

Keep in mind, Magnaflow is cheaper because it does not have resonators.
Once you get headers and High Flow Cats, the resonators may be a welcome feature.

Marty's saving his car for a museum some day. :yup:
I don't think so.
Sadly, as I recall, Marty sold his V around July of '06 to guy who probably put it in a sealed, climate controlled vault. The new owner has only posted once that he had bought it, and was never heard from after that.

Nice that Marty still checks in once in awhile to keep us straight. :2thumbs:
