Hey fellas, I'm in need of some help. My 85 Fleetwood Brougham is having issues. On 'black Friday' I got the Caddy 4 new tires and had it aligned at that time. I drove the car around over the weekend and noticed that it was still pulling the the right when I hit the brakes. Yesterday I took the car back to the Sears and according to them they did not see anything wired going on with the alignment. Any ideas on what could be going on, and which direction to take...? Thanks in advance.

If it pulls only when you hit the brakes, then it's probably a brake issue. You may need new shoes/pads/whatever as unequal wear will cause unequal braking. Hence the pull. I had a problem like that on my '83 Olds wagon and a complete brake job fixed it. Though my bill was $600 for a bunch of stuff, I doubt yours will be that much. Go to "Just Brakes" or something similar and they will probably tell you for free.
Good luck!

My 89 had a similar problem, although it wasn't terrible, but enough as to where I had to correct slightly when braking heavily. I swapped out the pads in the front and it's perfect now. It'll probably be just the pads. The rotors last a while if you got good ones. Not a hard job at all.

It's likely a sticking caliper slider. Take the wheel off, take the two caliper bolts off, and check the sliders to make sure they are free to move back and forth. Take the slides out, clean, lube, reinstall. If it is pulling to the right, start with the LEFT side.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll check out the pads and go from there. As far as brake pads go, should I go with the ceramic pad (if available) or what have you guys had good luck with?
I did replace the pads, rotors, and wheel bearings about 7 or 8 years ago and I can't remember which type of pads were on there at the moment (I think semi-metallic, I think I got them from Auto-Zone), like I said it was a while back.
