i have a 99 sls with a bad starter (believed) can anyone help me locate it on the car?
It's in the valley under the intake manifold.

Lay in a supply of intake manifold gaskets and injector O-rings and have at it. While you're in there, you might as well change the rubber connector (plenum) between the intake and throttlebody. It has a habit of developing a crack in the bottom part of the rubber flex area which will eventually give you a hard-to-find vacuum leak. Make darn sure the positive cable is clean and tight on the starter stud.
I don't think that the '99 has the plenum (rubber coupler). I think that is only on 2000+ Northstars if I remember correctly.

You're probably correct.......look at my post under 0300 misfire codes............you never can tell what these engines have, year-to-year!
You're telling me. Hard to keep up with.
