I still buy it at Wal-Mart (unground), store it in the freezer, and grind the beans in a hand cranked grinder at home. gothicaleigh 11-26-07, 10:28 AM Unground Starbucks beans. Ground right before I make a pot. BIG ERN 11-26-07, 10:30 AM I also use 8 o'clock colombian, grind it myself EcSTSatic 11-26-07, 11:31 AM Life is too short to drink coffee that comes in a jar! http://www.gevalia.com/Gevalia/images/common/logo.gif ewill3rd 11-26-07, 11:34 AM No choices for us non-addicts? I don't drink coffee, can't stand the smell of it, the taste of it or anything. You drug abusers can have it! :D ;) Florian 11-26-07, 11:36 AM I roast my own green coffee beans. Usually single plantation beans from Costa Rica. I roast the night before, and let em sit overnight, then grind in the morning. Not only does the house smell awesome, I get the freshest coffee around. Best coffee ever. BTW, if I ever run out of green coffee, Intelligentsia is my second choice. Intellegentsia.com F Spyder 11-26-07, 12:38 PM believe it or not, methcoffee.com has some really good stuff. Search for my review on it about a year ago on here... kbevere 11-26-07, 12:40 PM DD coffee is the way to go! EcSTSatic 11-26-07, 12:46 PM believe it or not, methcoffee.com has some really good stuff. Search for my review on it about a year ago on here... I remember that thread. If you still like it Spyder, I'll have to order some. http://www.methcoffee.com/images/spacer.gif http://www.methcoffee.com/index.php gdwriter 11-26-07, 12:53 PM I'll admit it, I'm a sheep. Starbucks sucked me in about 10 years ago with their mochas. We don't have office coffee at my new job, so I brought in my own pot and bean grinder. I've got a pot of Starbucks Breakfast Blend brewing now. Love the smell of fresh coffee brewing. AMGoff 11-26-07, 01:37 PM I too was brought up on the 8 o'clock coffee, first at the A&P then at the Superfresh... We keep a bag in the freezer for when we have company over. Other than that, I'll be damned if I brew a pot just for myself anymore... I've got a local little coffee shop called "Beans" literally right around the corner, they make a decent pot, but most of the time, "gotta have Wawa," baby... Their Kona blend is top notch as is their Kenya... good stuff, and this is from a confirmed addict... And as far as that poll goes... the only one I had ever heard of was Nescafe and that crap is on par with Folgers or Maxwell House... ick. I~LUV~Caddys8792 11-26-07, 01:59 PM I rarely ever drink coffee, and when I do, I'll just go up to Caribou and buy one of those yuppie coffie/chocolate drinks. AMGoff 11-26-07, 02:06 PM I rarely ever drink coffee, and when I do, I'll just go up to Caribou and buy one of those yuppie coffie/chocolate drinks. Oh good God boy... those aren't coffee, they're liquid candy... if you're gonna do it, do it right - black, straight up! I~LUV~Caddys8792 11-26-07, 02:12 PM If that was the only coffee available, I'd never drink coffee. gary88 11-26-07, 02:16 PM Right now I'm drinking a $2 medium drip coffee from Starbucks. I don't care for that fancy crap they have there. Just give me mah caffeine. Spyder 11-26-07, 02:37 PM I remember that thread. If you still like it Spyder, I'll have to order some. http://www.methcoffee.com/images/spacer.gif http://www.methcoffee.com/index.php It was very good. Not the best flavor I've ever had, but definitely up there with the really good ones. Still the best smelling non-fruity coffee I've encountered though. Give 'em a shot. It's nice and strong and doesn't mess with your stomach as much as a lot of the others do. :) hueterm 11-26-07, 03:03 PM Illy preground espresso, usually via French press, if I'm at home. Local coffee shop latte if I'm out. Hodgepodge of Starbucks/Cain's/Maxwell House (whatever's there at the moment) if I'm at the office. RightTurn 11-26-07, 03:11 PM Instant coffee = :ack: Freshly brewed Starbucks regular, DD or Kona are my favorites. EcSTSatic 11-26-07, 03:31 PM It was very good. I loath milk, so I have no idea why I tried doctoring coffee with cream. Once I wised up, I discovered two sugars (for the equivalent of two cups in my coffee mug) is perfect. Jesda 11-26-07, 06:25 PM The best part of waking up is Florian in your cup. RightTurn 11-26-07, 06:30 PM Good to the last drop. lawfive 11-26-07, 07:42 PM Jamaica Blue Mountain is the best coffee evar. Dreadfully expensive. Also love Turkish coffee if made right. When I'm home and in charge of the pot, I like Navy coffee: any medium-to-strong roast, ground, brewed strong, with a dash of salt. RightTurn 11-26-07, 09:47 PM Jamaica Blue Mountain is the best coffee evar. You are incorrect sir. :D I~LUV~Caddys8792 11-26-07, 10:33 PM The best part of waking up is Florian in your cup. That's what she said. c5 rv 11-26-07, 10:33 PM I only grind and brew coffee on Saturday mornings and then put it in a thermos carafe. That usually lasts me through the weekend. When it gets cool, I stick a cup of it in the microwave. I brew leaded for my self and some Maxwell House decaf for my wife. Being middle aged and having years of long commutes as a consultant, I've learned to commute without coffee. Once I get to the office, I go for coffee with some clients. At our current site, we walk across the driveway to that famous place for gourmet coffee - the Speedway gas station. Florian 11-27-07, 01:09 AM The best part of waking up is Florian in your cup. cup as in the thing that keeps your balls from getting mashed???? Good to the last drop. Artee....you know what I like. Jamaica Blue Mountain is the best coffee evar. Dreadfully expensive. Blue Mountain is the Folgers of the coffee-snob crowd. (Id like to think I am one). There are thousands of better coffees available. F heavymetals 11-27-07, 01:23 AM Ghiradelli Double Chocolate Coffee (http://store.drsoda.com/ghirdoubchoc.html) 2 cups in the morning and I am zinging..... AMGoff 11-27-07, 02:11 PM Well I can't speak for whatever Blue Mountain coffee you can get in the States... but as someone who spends a hefty chunk of their year in Jamaica, the coffee down there is phenomenal. A cup (or three) of that in the morning with a totally FRESH breakfast... amazing. type911 11-27-07, 08:14 PM Dunks for me. nyyankeehater 11-27-07, 10:34 PM Keurig Single Cup Brewer, the thing is outstanding. I prefer Tully's Kona. Best part is no clean up! http://coffeegiant.com/product_info.php?cPath=214&products_id=676 Favorite shop is DD by far. RightTurn 11-27-07, 10:46 PM nyyankeehater--I like the Keurig, too. (And the Kona!) I like the machine so well that I gave 3 of them as Christmas gifts last year. :yup: nyyankeehater 11-27-07, 10:59 PM nyyankeehater--I like the Keurig, too. (And the Kona!) I like the machine so well that I gave 3 of them as Christmas gifts last year. :yup: We got one in my store and I went out and bought one the next day. Makes life so much easier and enables you to have many different flavors based on mood and caffeine need, caffeine need, caffeine need... RightTurn 11-27-07, 11:09 PM We like it because it's easy and FAST to have a single cup of fresh-brewed coffee. And no pot to cleanup. codewize 11-28-07, 12:17 AM I have a Keurig B200 Brewer so I use mostly Green Mountain, which is awesome coffee. I also use Timothy's, also awesome coffee. On the outside in the real world I've lost all interest in Dunkin Donuts. They suck. Starbucks pissed me off the other night but they do usually have good coffee. Honestly I think the best coffee shop coffee is Seattle's Best. EDIT: Just reading back I see other have Keurig's too :) I think they're the best in single cup brewers with the best concept. Sandy 11-28-07, 12:36 PM I have never considered myself anything remotely close to a "Coffee Experrt" ~ & only usually have 1/2 to 1 cup a day, but I kinda like LavAzza in the black can at the supermarket. It's drip that you make at home. Try a can. Spyder 11-28-07, 01:50 PM I HATE Starbucks. Many reasons that I won't get into here, but one of them is that there plain 'ol no frills black coffee SUCKS! Crap, its horrible. McDonalds, surprisingly, has a pretty decent cup of morning joe...definitely better than Starbucks... RightTurn 11-28-07, 01:55 PM EDIT: Just reading back I see other have Keurig's too :) I think they're the best in single cup brewers with the best concept. Totally agree. I've owned a couple of different types that use "pods". They don't measure up to the Keurig. dkozloski 11-28-07, 03:08 PM Canadian Nabob Tradition. I have it shipped in by the case. I discovered it in the 1950's and I've been drinking it ever since. The flavored and additive coffees taste to me like somebody forgot to wash the cup after it got contaminated. All the vanilla, cocolate, and nutty flavored stuff is for people who got their taste buds shot off in the war.
