: Movies where they wrecked Cadillacs in particular and GM big bodies in general

I think it is an absolute outrage.

Me, myself and Irene (chevy caprice dumped in to the river)
Terminator 3 (whole lot caprices blown up and a wrecked Cadillac hearse)
2 fast 2 furious(same)
X men and X2 (same)
Tin men (wrecked Cadillacs)
Payback (Really nice head-on wrecked 87-89 Brougham)
Matrix:Reloaded (Early 70's Eldorado shot and damaged)
Ok I know Eldo is not big body, but you know what i mean so get off my @$$
Casino (eldorado blown up)
Blues Brothers-second movie (see T3, Xmen, 2fast 2furious)
Romeo must die (Caddie limo trashed)

The list, of course is far from complete. Why Cadillacs, people:mad:
Who can tell me of one movie where Fords and lincolns get trashed and no, Steven Segal's "above the law" doesn't count, the car was still driveable.

Ok, "robocop 3", but that's IT:shocked2:

Fords arent cool enough to even be thought about being blown up. If their going to go down, they need to go down in style.

I was watching a rerun of Walker, Texas Ranger, and there is this one episode where they shot and blow up like 3 or 4 late 80's Broughams :shakes fist:

Wonder how many Caddys they used for Ghost Busters

The worst was 3000 miles to Graceland. Cherry Red/White 59 Coupe Deville. First smakes a ceoyte and spins off into a ditch. Then While on the run they roll it into a river. Although if you look close I think it's a 4 door that was guted and repainted. I wept during that scene. Then they pick up a very clean early 90's Caprice, trash the hell out of it in a car chase and flip it over.

Don't forget the movie "Pink Cadillac" When that door was ripped off I was bawling!!! I like Eastwood but I hated him in that movie. I mean what did the car ever do to him.

What about 48 hours? Didn't they trash the hell out of the 66 convertable Nick Noltey drove? Actually, in both of them. He had another on in Another 48 hours.

Another was called "Retroactive" with James Belushi. I think they had a nice '70 they burned.

Don't forget "Terminal Velocity" where they roll a beautiful " Give me a Ticket Red Cadillac Allante" out the rear of a cargo plane. Charlie Sheen saves the girl in the trunk in a free fall, but the Allante ends up a pancake in the desert from a 10,000 foot drop. They used 11 Allantes in that movie. I guess they had to get just the right shot to make that movie. What a shame! :(

The Allantes mentioned that were flattened in Terminal Velocity were supplied by an individual from Tucson who supplies cars and other props for movies. He is an Allante collector who has 30-40 Allantes including several of the last ones (including some that were incomplete) that came off the line in Italy.

That reminds me about the shortage of 1969 Dodge Chargers because of all they wrecked on "The Dukes of Hazzard."

Over the weekend I rented "A Beautiful Mind" on DVD. They shoot up and the dump into the bay a '52 Cadillac Sedan. Now that's a real crime! :annoyed:

Haven't you ever noticed that they always pick the coolest cars to trash up? I mean who's gonna care if they smash up a geo metro or a ford pinto. No ones gonna care if they smash up crap cars, that's why they get the best, such as vettes, camaros, caddys, shelby mustang, chargers. Although I love my friend's '62 lincoln, caddys are way cooler and they rule.

Anytime you get to see massive amounts of GM products being destroyed is just fine by me

I don't mind seeing newer GM's getting destroyed. They need to be recycled into something more useful like a beer can. It's seeing the classics getting trashed that makes me sick.

Why can't they trash something more economical like a sunbird or a cavalier?

Or a 'vette? CHEvette that is lol!

My two worst are "Wise Guys" and some flick with one of the Baldwins and Cindy Crawford.
"Wise Guys" had the stunning '59 ragtop (my dream machine) utterly destroyed.
"Don't touch the dash, don't touch the chrome, don't touch the upholstry, don't touch nothing ! !" (or something like that) was a great line by Frank the Fixer (Captain Lou Albano)
The Baldwin Crawford escapade ran a beautiful '69 or '70 convert into a telephone pole at speed.
Ouch.
And yes, Tinmen made me cry. :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:

The worst I saw was on MAD TV they purpousely beat the hell out of an early 80's Sedan de Ville for a car wax ad. It was like, "However the wax won't protect against bats, and chainsaws, and wreckingballs." as they did all this to the car, including dropping a wrecking ball through the roof. I almost heard all the air shocks pop and the car scream. I couldn't watch that again, it came on again the other day and I shut it off before anything happened. That was just tasteless.

Wow this thread's an antique!
I can't believe no one has mentioned 'License to Drive' 1988 starring Corey Haim and Corey Feldman!
C'mon guys! We can do better than this can't we?!

There's some Stallone movie where a 64 Eldorado gets torched in parking garage. I was paralyzed with horror when I saw that.

The Matrix! The CTSes used in the movie ended up at various junkyards. A friend of mine saw some at Spalding's Auto in Spokane when he was looking around for Chrysler parts. They were black and full of bullet holes.

Edit: Oops, opic said big body GMs.

Okay, just saw this. Interesting & SAD!

Here's the worst one for me:
A little background......

Beginning in 1975 (all new design) FoMoCo had Lincoln Continentials (Town Car today) which came in both Sedans & Coupes. The Coupoe was a poor(er) seller. Ford sent the coupe models up to Canada to A.H.A. (Andrew A. Hotton) associates (custom craft car alterations, like the Lincoln Limos....) take off the top & the windshield (it was too upright), and using a 1975 Ford LTD windshield to replace it, turned it into one darn good looking convertible also using the 1975 Ford LTD roof & rear glass window. The finished car looked 100% rolled off the line that way product. Because the 1975-1979 Full sized biggest Lincoln NEVER came in BRIGHT RED, one such car was made!
It was the final year of the design, 1979, bright red with a white top & white & red interior. A one off in factory Special Order Paint.
Sold to a movie studio.
Car was used in a "b" movie starring Teri Garr called Honky Tonk Freeway. In the final scene of the movie, the car was crashed into a Semi, as a following Semi carshed into the back end, and a hugh fireball errupted as fire encompassed the car. cops shot submachine guns into it.
I almost demanded my $$$ back - as a Cadillac, Lincoln & Imperial lover!! Why do that to a 1-Off ??? The Convertible conversion was $ 20,800.00 OVER the price of the car, making it a $40,000 car IN 1979. I wrote to FoMoCo, in totall, 12 such cars were built for 1979.

Terminator 1- 1977 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, Great car chase, gets shot up, goes from Drive to Park at 50mph, sad
Gone In Sixty Seconds (1974) - they torched a 1971 Cadillac Eldorado Hardtop b/c it had tons of Heroin in it.

thats all i can think of now

This isn't a movie, but....

I was watching an episode of COPS a couple of nights ago and in the eginning (where they have the music and show random clips) they showed a late model white Deville with a carriage top getting "pitted". Cop hit the left rear 1/4 and it spun. I watched it over and over again and I'm 99% it was a Deville.

I wish I had the episode with that segment in it.
