its been a while since i've been on here. i haven't been keeping up with cadillacforums. shame on me...anyways thought i would post about the fact that i decided to replace my cracked drivers armrest and since they don't make them anymore i went with DASHTOPS.com its a cap. i actually found out about them on here. anyways HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED with fit especially and finish was alright. i just want to be able to put one on without dying it. please pass this info on. i did not call them with my dissatifed purchase because the guy was a prick to begin with oh well.:banghead:

Oh man, sorry to hear about that. I'd check around some junk yards. You'd be surprised at the number of "mint interior" cars that come in due to collision or engine problems. Call around too, as folks across the country can ship it fairly cheaply. But yeah; those repro places are junk. Sorry.

I just replaced mine on an 86.. I looked for over a year at the yards, and actually got 3 different units, 2 had much smaller cracks then mine, I figured I could patch it with those little 20.00 kits with the patching compound and heat tool you get from the auto parts store.. but I just found the perfect match off a unit that needed no patching.. oddly, it was an 82 with a flawless dark blue interior same color as mine , I almost pulled the seats just because the leather was so perfect, but mine is a cloth d'Elegance, and these were standard fleetwood.. I still have the two armrests, and would be willing to sell them pretty cheeply one brown, one dark blue, both very small cracks, I could send pics to anyone interested..
