View Full Version : Who has a deposit down so far? Details? How much was it, is it fully refundable, what kind of price guarantee did you get (MSRP, $2000 below MSRP, etc), what kind of required dealer add on charges do you have to pay (admin fees, dealer packaging fees, etc)......
I'm tempted to pull the trigger but want to see what kind of deals others are getting. :stirpot: Dr Chill 11-22-07, 10:12 PM Got one at MSRP without any other fees. # 1 on list. ZEUSROTTY 11-23-07, 02:24 AM I am going in next week to see what they will do... If I can get that deal, I was told 500 down as a deposit would do it.... But Naperville cadillac is taking deposits... csp3000 11-28-07, 09:53 PM Got one at MSRP without any other fees. # 1 on list.
hey Dr Chill did they give you any idea what the MSRP was going to be about... ylwjacket 11-29-07, 01:04 PM I'm in at MSRP, #1 on the list as well.
No idea what it will cost. The only directive right now, which is subject to change, is black on black with every option. Once details are available, we'll spec it, and they'll run my credit card, if I still want it.
Right now they are just holding my credit card number. I told them we'll place the order or walk as soon as we see what happens in Detroit. I'm in at MSRP, #1 on the list as well.

Moonroof and AT delete, please.

Yeah, sunroofs are much classier... I became very familiar with GM's allocation methodology when trying to get a Solstice GXP a few years ago. Does anyone know how GM will allocate new V's and where they will go? If you have a deposit down on a dealer that will not get an allocation until 2009 then it don't mean chit. If you think about it there are thousands of dealers so you will not only want to be #1 on a list but #1 at the right dealer. Then you are talking about MRSP+. I don't mind paying MSRP but can easily see it creeping over $70k based upon the 550hp monster that everyone is expecting.
BTW... another lesson learned from my Solstice experience is that no one admits to paying more than MSRP but lots of people do. ylwjacket 11-30-07, 11:39 AM Moonroof and AT delete, please.

Good catch on the AT.
Against all advice here, I actually like the sunroof. :shhh: I guess that's why it's optional though. Heh, early adopter tax. Happened to a lot of people here. I got my V almost 1 year to the day after they were released. I got mine at employee price + a bunch of extra's added in (can you say corsa & fg2 for free). If you want it early you will pay. If you wait a bit, MSRP or better will be yours.

I paid $1K off MSRP in August 2004 on a 2005 V.
If, and a big if as I will need a bigger garage as the '05 V ain't leaving before my death, I buy next gen V, I would wait until 2010 model year due to lower price and hopefully any issues would be remedied. Nobody knows yet. tweeter81 12-03-07, 12:14 PM I paid $1K off MSRP in August 2004 on a 2005 V.

I paid $10K off MSRP in March 2005 on a 2004 V. But, I also just bought a house and don't foresee having any extra money to spend on a shiny new Cadillac for at least 5 years. Bummer for me. But I will (hopefully) always have my '04 V.
BACK ON TOPIC:
I can't believe anyone would put down a deposit on a car that hasn't even been unveiled yet. I think I would bet that the new V will be very cool, but that isn't for sure. I, personally, have more of a wait-and-see attitude when it comes to new model vehicles. Or maybe I am only saying that because I am jealous and there is absolutely no way I could afford a new one...:rant2: ylwjacket 12-03-07, 01:30 PM I can't believe anyone would put down a deposit on a car that hasn't even been unveiled yet. In my case, I know I am getting a new car, no later than next summer. I have a shortlist of cars I am looking at.
If the V is a relative dud when it's announced, then I'll move on with something else in January or February. If it is a stud, then I'll hold out until summer. If it won't be released until the end of next year, then I'll move on early in the year regardless of what it looks like. onebadcad 12-04-07, 11:18 AM I paid $10K off MSRP in March 2005 on a 2004 V.
Niiiiiiiiice, I hope there are similar deals for those of us that wait to buy 12 months after the release date, but somehow I doubt it. tweeter81 12-04-07, 12:38 PM Niiiiiiiiice, I hope there are similar deals for those of us that wait to buy 12 months after the release date, but somehow I doubt it.
Onebadcad,
First off, let me say, I bow down to your insanely sweet collection of GM luxury muscle cars, you da man!
Second, it is a possibility that a year to 18 months after initial release of the new V you may be able to find great deals on the car.
The reason I got such a good deal (the car only had approx. 75 miles on it) was because I got my car in Spearfish, SD and there are not that many people in the area with the money or the desire to drive such a high-powered luxury car. I think the fact that it really shouldn't be driven in the snow deters a lot of people in the South Dakota area.
I think the geographic location and the kind of people (or median income) of certain areas can potentionally lead to a rare find. Which I sincerely hope is the case because I will be waiting probably until 2011 or 2012 for a new V. But the new Camaro is looking pretty sweet also. The same deal applies to that car though as far as not getting a first year car, plus the monster Camaro (whether its a Z-28 or SS) won't be out the first or maybe even second year anyway.
TO EVERYONE: Sorry about getting this thread off-topic. I am bored at work. :thepan: pietroraimondi 12-05-07, 12:57 AM I have a $500 refundable deposit and am 1'st on the list to place my individual build order with my local dealer where we have bought 5 previous Cadillacs.
The dealer advised me that they would call me when they have formal pricing and are ready to place their first CTSV order allocation.
I am going with the black exterior and the titanium gray leather interior.
I was given no price guarantee, but based on our relationship with our dealer I was assured that there would be no market price adjustment over MSRP and they would probably offer me about $1500 off the MSRP based on their dealer allocation and our previous business with them. Can you give a ball park figure of what you paid? Got one at MSRP without any other fees. # 1 on list.
What are they asking for the 2009 CTSV? $55k correct? ZEUSROTTY 12-10-07, 08:18 PM I have a $500 refundable deposit and am 1'st on the list to place my individual build order with my local dealer where we have bought 5 previous Cadillacs.

i just got the same deal... 500 deposit... I walked in and they said in a low voice behind a black V-Series embroidered hooded gown... "We have been waiting for your arrival, oh chosen one." | |
