Lord Cadillac

The first Cadillac I came to respect was my father's white 1980 Eldorado Biarritz. That car turned heads everywhere we went. I was 14 years old at the time - and it's the first time I realized how important cars were in the general scheme of things. I've owned a 1979 and a 1980 Eldorado (if I can remember correctly).
The next Cadillac I took notice of was a 1990 Fleetwood Brougham. It had a stately look to it. It appeared to be the most comfortable vehicle one could ride in. I aspired to own one, but the best I could do was a 1979 DeVille Phaeton...
The next Cadillac I took notice of was a 1993 Fleetwood Brougham. Again, it was huge, was very classy and looked incredibly comfortable.. I owned a 1995 and still miss it..
Next was the Eldorado Touring Coupe, starting in 1995. I owned a white diamond 95 ETC and that was probably the best looking car I've ever owned. Like the early 80s Eldorados (to me) - this style is timeless...
It's been a long time since I really took notice of another Cadillac - and tonight was the night. I saw a white diamond (or pearl white - whatever) 3.6 2008 CTS. It's not the first time I've seen one - maybe it was something about the lighting - I don't know - but it was perfect. I haven't been this impressed with a Cadillac since 1995.
I don't know where this leaves me in regards to my next purchase.. I do like big cars - and the CTS isn't very big.. I'm not quite sure I'd be happy replacing my Escalade ESV with such a small car (ok, it's not THAT small - but compared to the ESV...) - so maybe I should wait to see what Cadillac comes up with next to replace the DTS and STS.
I REALLY hope they somehow incorporate some of the CTS' style into this new vehicle. And for the record, I like this new CTS a lot better than the outgoing model. Not taking anything away from it, however - as I like the outgoing CTS as well. But there's just something about this new one that's really caught my eye.
I'm just really happy that Cadillac has caught my attention again. If I feel this way, so must many other people.. To me, that's great news...
