I have a 2005 sts4 with 18" rims. 235 50 18 up front and 255 45 18 in the rear. SCC makes a chain the super 6 that will fit and needs only 6.3mm of clearnece on the inside sidewall. Does anyone know if its ok to use these chains? Has anyone tried this?

Are you going mud bogging?

No I am in the norhteast we see some decent storms, and I have to get into work no matter how bad the roads are

I just got home after a 730 mile roundtrip journey that included 400 miles of freezing rain on icy roads, slush, slop, and snow. AWD and Blizzaks did the job. I never spun a tire or slid/skidded a single time while averaging over 60 MPH.
With the torn up tires, torn up fenders, and the ever popular broken chain wrapped around the axle tearing off the brake lines I'd rather eat worms than chain up. You'd be way ahead to buy a four wheel drive beater for the bad weather days.

I was trying to avoid snow tires, thought the chains might be a quick easy solution if i really needed them
