View Full Version : My latest Caddy cadillackid64 11-19-07, 12:12 AM Picked up this Fleetwood about a month ago, wanted to post a few pics. I was actually looking to get a real nice '92 with a 5.7 as I had had a '93 Brougham for 6 years but this car put an end to that! The configuration seems a little weird, it's a base Fleetwood, not a Brougham and has chrome wheels with gold insert painting and gold emblems and a gold pinstripe.
I'm not sure what the deal on the top is, it looks like is was built with no top according to the SPID tag and this top looks like it was added on after the fact though it is well done and doesn't have any of those God-awful fake convertible bows in it. Maybe someone here knows the story on these tops.
I picked the car up from a little old lady in Pasadena (literally), original owner with 71,000 on the clock. Still got the Owner's manual with her hubby's name on it and an unused set of Gold Keys.
The pictures make the color look a bit lighter it is a pretty dark blue, looks black at night, I hope to take some more as I keep fixing her up. My_favorite_Brougham 11-19-07, 12:19 AM I love those wheels, since they're the chrome version. But how did the gold get on the inside? Was that standard, or did you do that? I would actually prefer the all silver ones, but those are mighty nice. Especially with the vogues! cadillackid64 11-19-07, 01:42 AM No, Ididn't put the gold in, I'm guessing it's original. The car has all gold emblems and a gold pinstripe as well. Actually the emblem on the deck lid broke and I need to find one but the gold seems impossible so I'll probably have to put a chrome one on there. I~LUV~Caddys8792 11-19-07, 01:46 AM Wow, love that color combo! Gold on blue looks fantastic, and those vogues really set it off!
+1 for you. Cadillacboy 11-19-07, 06:44 AM I love those bright polished rims :D
Congrats dude ! 96Fleetwood 11-19-07, 10:27 AM Weird, those are the 'brougham' wheels.
I bet the top and wheels were a dealer installed package.
Beautiful Fleetwood, congrats!! Post some pics of the interior. I think 1993 and 1994 had the best seats because of the three stage lumbar. cadillackid64 11-20-07, 11:07 PM I wanted to post another pic that showed how the color looks under normal lighting. I think the level ride has it sitting about two inches too high. As I remember, the top of the center cap was supposed to be even with the bottom of the skirt. Any of you guys know? 96Fleetwood 11-20-07, 11:25 PM That looks just about the right height to me. caddycruiser 11-21-07, 12:14 AM That looks just about the right height to me.
Agreed--it's perfect, and how my '95 with working factory levelers used to be.
If the bottom of the skirt is on the center cap...you're sagging, and nobody likes that:thumbsup:
Otherwise, GREAT car. As Elias said, it clearly started out as a base Fleetwood, and from there it was very likely a dealer that had the aftermarket top and gold emblems done, as well as putting on a set of chrome Brougham wheels and golding the inserts. Not uncommon for Cadillac dealer "packages", at least back in the day. cadillackid64 11-21-07, 12:17 AM Thanks! cadillackid64 11-21-07, 01:04 AM That's pretty much what I figured about the rims and top. That makes sense given the car was sold here in California. The Vogue tires were put on a few years ago but only have like 20k miles on them. Around here (I'm right near Ehler's Cadillac) they call those "the mayo and the mustard" Old Fleetwood 11-23-07, 12:20 AM Would a photo of the controls on the inside of the driver's door as well as a shot of the seat controls show whether it's a Brougham or a "plain" Fleetwood?
As I recall, only the Broughams have certain extra controls in that door panel. IndyBrougham 11-23-07, 01:05 PM Beautiful car! It looks just about perfect. | |
