I have an X scratch on my hood,97 sts, quite deep,I got some correct matching paint from local body shop, when I fixed scratch on my 92 eldo.
I used paint and wet sand paper,it turned out good, the paint on this car though looks more involved, would it be safe to use the wet sand paper on it?, any suggestions, thanks.

With no real idea of your expertise, talent, or capacity for harm :) I'd say if you really want to tackle this, do a small piece (like, 1/2 an inch or so) of the scratch and see if your complete process is adequate and acceptable to you. If not, it's time to call in the pro's. I've used 3000 wet sand on small rock chips and other very small imperfections but never tried it on a deep or long scratch....
