My '92 Eldorado not having any cup holders is driving me crazy. I ran across an ebay auction for a '95 armrest with a pull-out cup holder and I'm curious if it would be a bolt-in swap or if I'd have to modify the armrest/console to make it work.
Any thoughts?

That one is gone but they pop up from time to time and I'd really like to install one if it can be made to fit. I'd just hate to waste the money on one if there's no chance I can make it work.

Well, I may just go ahead and buy one to see if it will work. I guess I can always put it back on ebay if it looks like it won't.

To answer my own question, the cup holder armrest is a direct replacement for the armrest with the storage compartment. The only modification needed is the addition of a washer on each pivot bolt if the mounting hardware from the original armrest is used. This allows you to set the preload on the pivots so the armrest will hold it's position as you raise and lower it.
