I told him to add two more door handles and badge it as a CTS-V.

Heavy, re-post as you linked to the forum, not the thread.
Those C6Z guys really hit the roof when a C6 own does the front and rear widebody conversion and put the Z06 emblems on the front quarters.
I say screw them all, as when I am done with my C6, I am putting ZR1 emblems on the front and rear quarters, the back, the roof, etc...

Putting Z06 embz on is gey. I have the LS6 emb on mine, that resembles the Z06 one, as an homage to the Z.

Trukk,
Thanks, that is some funny sh!at!!! We need some threads like that, as you can milk them for 100+ posts-which is an easy way to get casino points.

By the way, my V has a Z06 emblem on the right lower trunk, replaced the cheap CTS one, as when I did it in August 2004, no LS6 emblems were available. Does this make me a poser or hoser???

Not sure if one should ever say a Forum is too big, but that one may qualify, as it seems like the General Forums move about one page every three or so hours. The sub-Forums are easier to keep up with. I rarely browse the General, as the 1%s hang out in F.I. and Tech. Its also fun to visit the Sales Forum to remind myself that the V is not alone in rapid depreciation.

Dude you are such a giant poser. As a mater of fact, I think you and BLEEEE are one and the SAME!!!!!

Associate story: My insurance agent came over to my house, and asked me what the LS6 meant on the back of my car. I said, I have the souped up model, and that's the engine the car has. He say's he has been looking at new CTS's, and loved the pickup of the supercharged 6 cylinder. :helpless: he then say's, what does the L stand for? I'm like HUH? He say's ya, L, I know the S6 stands for supercharged 6 cylinder. :banghead:. I was like good luck on your car search, lets sign those papers now.

But it's got a Z06 motor.....

We need to delve deeper, as technically the only V with a Z06 motor is the '04 models,,, I am guily of misinformation, as when I had my LS6, I use to tell the unknowings that it had a Z06 motor, but in essence it did not even have a Corvette motor, as we all know the C5Z's last year was 2004, thus the 2005 V did not have a Z06 motor, due to no Z06 was offered that year in the C6, and when the C6Z came out in 2006 the motor was the LS7, which could not really be called a derivitive of any previous LSx motor, much less the LS6 and some may argue that the LS2 is a closer kin of the LS7 than the LS6 even though numerically this seems illogical--------okay, I am beginning to sound like Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny.

This post needs some cred, thus casino points!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ah ha, but since the LS6 was the Z06 motor (at one time) I would offer that it is ok to say your 04-05 CTS-V came with a Z06 or Vette motor.

However, someone who really new their game would ask which one of the (at least) three motors that was?

I agree. The LS6 was orginally made for the Zo6 and that motor is still the same motor in 05 as it was in 04 even though there was no Zo6 for it to go in. Crate motor

Well, that may cause a fist fight on the Forums, as some of those Z06 guys were not agree. But eff 'em if they can't handle it, we could start an Internet War, Sal's boys vs. all Z06 primadonna, met them somewhere in the middle of the country (hopefully that is South Florida, as I hate road trips, don't have seataroids but something ain't right down there), set up a few street races and an impromtu autocross, kick their arses, insult their women, steal their liquor, play some Zep "Rock and Roll" as we cruise into the sunset. You have to drive your V, as if no one else shows up, I can drive my C6, of course I will let you win, you can get out of your V and kick my car (hopefully a tire), I can get out crying, bow to the V, film it and put on Forums and youtube, confirm the V's superiority, create a rush for all enthusiasts to buy Vs, see our market price quadruple, sell our Vs, get enough to buy '09 V and '09 ZR1, drive them for three or four years, beat the crap out of SRTs, AMGs, Ms, RSs and then do the whole V vs. Vette thing again in 2012. As the beer commercial says, we are brilliant!!!!!

Bingo! Pot, meet kettle...

I must agree completely....

I know, I'm gonna start asking vette owners if their car has the V motor....or if their C5 has a camaro motor....why is it always a 'vette' motor....if thats the case the C6 has a SSR, GTO, TBSS, etc....I just don't understand why it's always a vette motor..........

Engine was created for the Vette and then handed down to the others, therefore Vette engine.

Plus, it's what the average Joe can understand. When people ask if your car is fast and you tell them yes, it's got a CTS-V engine in it, they look at you like a deer in the headlights. If you say it has a Vette engine, they get that (to a point at least).

I agree that the badge should not read Z06 Powered, should be LS6 Powered. A stock C5 Z06 can not keep up with my C5 Convertible on the track and several years ago someone asked if it was possible to get Z06 performance out of a Coupe. I posted what bolt-on mods I have and my dyno sheet and these Z06 guys jumped all over me, just like they did to that guy.

Thing was (as was pointed out) the guy used a new alias/account, but wasn't the originator of the thread or at least that was never confirmed.
