Damn, I thought you were predicting a Dolphin's victory and welcoming all bets???

Regarding the Forum, after 3+ years almost everything has been addressed, we need to expand our content, here are my suggestions:

1) Stop moving threads, even if they are not V specific, as this sub-forum needs traffic--if you are a V owner and you post primarily in this forum, your threads should remain here (I guess I will be banned soon...)
2) Kill stories should stay here when done by a V, many here never visit the 'Kill' section/forum, I have posted there but very few V brethen comment
3) Offer Knobslob/Toysnot and the V-emblem dude lifetime memberships, they were mediocre at best but knew how to stir sh!t up
4) Start a 'Babe' Sticky, I think that alone will double the posts, Babes do not have to be posing on a V as I ain't particular
5) Stop telling Newbies to utilize the search feature, we can have some real fun giving them mis-information, like its okay to roll on 22s and picnic bench spoilers are the shizzle
6) Threads about cars other than Vs should stay here, as the thread starter is usually looking for comments from those with Vs who can make the comparisons, I really don't need a dude with an Eldorado telling me a C63 does not have a big enough back seat (No offense intended if you own a barge, er I mean Eldorado)

Not bitching, just trying to help, mods can keep it 'as is' but I think we can all agree that more topics will drive more posts.

Thats one of the reasons I don't post here alot. Funny since I've been a member here since most in this "V forum" yet as you can see I have very few posts. Very few comments on new posts other than "Search Newb"...LOL

Funny since I've been a heavy GM buyer over the past 10 years owning several Covettes, GTOs, Trans Ams, Blazer SS, CTS-V etc...many of which share the same engine, drivetrain, suspension platforms;) ....this forum seems to be less "Tech" and "Smack" Talk than others...not that this is a bad thing though.

Hey Hey,

This is the wrong method of maturing this site to another level...

First off you are drivin a Cadillac, so that would lead to the fact you have some class,
Secondly, its not a run off the mill vehicle that anyone could buy and have...Only those bold enough will own this work of art. Then Mod the heck out of it...
Thirdly, it would be a positive step to bring in female talent of the intellegent sence. You know they do bring a good crowd with them...When i go to the dyno, i dont see any females, just males...It starts to get to you. A few nice women there who know what they are sayin will really increase sales, and attract other demographic of people you would never see at a dyno shop...

You wanna spice up your this forum, draw in a crowd you never would have thought to come. Then have them leave excite to come again...That aught to keep you busy.

DO SOMETHING SOMEBODY!!!!!!

Its so easy, start your own little V only race...Balls to the wall who has the biggest baddest vehicle and drivin technic out there...

Go head to head with those Jap tuners...Show them there is no subsitute for raw power...

Orginise sweet ass car washes that promote healthy neighborhoods, and stay in school senerios...

Do a BBQ and if you drive in with a V you dont have to bring the beer, if you bring you fam and a V you get a free meal...

My only handicap is i am 12 hours by plane away, and it kills me not being able to drive endlessly in any direction. I remember the last time i was there i spent more time drivin then i did with the woman i went over to see. We drove everywhere OK city to Dallas, to Lake Texhoma twice etc...Then we ventured up to Toronto and yet drove some more...

There is one cure, get offline and meet up, thread some rubber, burn some expensive gas, gossil down some cold ones and show off your master pieces...

As a newbie, I am hearing a clunk and whine in my rear, is this normal?
Also, my OE tires are getting worn, are there options available?
And lastly, does anyone have a sound clip of an aftermarket exhaust, as I can still hear my wife when she talks to me in the V and I would like to eliminate such.
Thanks for your help, and I love this place!!!

Definately a really cute girl, just needs a little less chest.
I knew a chick in H.S. that had the problem of her breasts growing too large. She eventually had to have the surgery because of multiple problems associated with it/them.

Its degradin, honestly. I keep readin lets lets lets, and nuttin is put into motion. Yes most of you all have almost reached the peak of their vehicles, but not all...Assist, give insight..Describe your setup and give pros and cons...Work it out so others can mix and match your combo(s)...

I did my own mix and match on my tahoe. Did the basics then got an escalade exhaust and man i can feel the torque. I havent changed any of the engine parts except the rockers, but am lookin to install some LS6 heads with cam for a bit more power...I want it quiet and powerful, love the roar but when u have guests in the car it is a bit annoyin. Plus i have to keep my ears open with women in the car, they seem to blab about something that always seems to dictate events to follow...

Words to the wise dont show them motorcycles or jetskis early, they will only use you to get to your toys...

I had an intersting post up earlier today...got a couple of responses rather quickly. However, for some reason it was taken down within the hour! I listed all the cars i've owned and asked what cars members have owned. I thought it would be neat to see the automotive paths various people took to becomming a V owner. I guess someone thought differently.

In my opinion a forum is a community...It cant be all about business. Gotta be some fun and socializing too.

I love that I can come on here and get answers either by searching, or by posting. I love that there is an opportunity to help others. But it would really be cool if people could relax a bit around here. Maybe make it a "warmer" place to spend our time.

Well I'm interested in a thread like that, so maybe we can restart it...

...I started w/ a late 60's 2 door Fiat my gfather brought back from italy from his Navy days in the early 70's. He got it repainted and gave it to me on my 14th bday, the fam moved states on my 15th and sold it, so I never got to drive it as a licensed driver. Then I went (about a year or so apart)....
'72 Cadi Sedan DeVille w/ a 472. 5k lbs of silly fast. Literally bought it mint from a little old lady from pasadena.
'72 Camaro SS, hunter green (sold it for $2k, kicking myself ever since)
'82 Jeep CJ7 Laredo w/ a 301.
'71 240Z
'84 5.0L Capri
'82 5.0L Mustang GT w/ massive cam lope, heads, giant carbs, exhaust & BBS wheels. Set off car alarms a block away, constantly.
'85 Maxima (got to replace a $4k transmission as a college student, nice)
'87 IROC (never thought it was as fast as it looked)
'87 Golf GTI (w/ a flowmaster! Still the most fun daily driver I ever had)
'93 Impala 350 (police interceptor), having people slow down when they see you is a plus and a minus.
'93 Mustang GT notchback, flowmasters & 295/35's (like the IROC, slower than it looked)
'96 Probe GT, liked the 'boy-racer', mini 'vette look, handled pretty well and was spirited enough for a city car. always thought this should have been the SHO car.
'01 Jeep G. Cherokee, like being able to drive over curbs, bump things
'04 CTS-V, love it... it's changed how I think about cars in so many ways.

you guys are really going to stretch my memory here...

(Going through the list you have to remember that occasionally a gas crisis would pop up, the car manufacturers killed performance cars, etc.)

I started with a 1966 Dodge Charger 383 auto, received used w/ 80k miles
1966 Corvette 427 (390hp) 4-speed
1957 Chevrolet, 350V8, headers, 4.11 rear end, mechanical lifter cam, 4-speed
1972 Corvette 350 4-speed
1973 Corvette 350 auto
1968 Corvette 427 auto
1975 Corvette 350 4-speed
1973 Chevrolet pickup 454 auto
1973 Nissan pickup 4-speed
1979 VW Scirocco 4-speed
1983 Chevrolet Citation 4-speed
1985 VW Jetta GLI 5-speed
1990 Ford Taurus SHO 5-speed
1997 Ford Taurus SHO auto
1998 Ford Taurus SHO auto
2007 V 6-speed

The 1975 Corvette, 1985 Jetta and 1990 SHO were bought new, the rest were bought used. About 2/3 of my years were spent in cars with manual transmissions.

BJV - how do you buy another 'vette after a '68 427!? It's all downhill after that (until the z06 or zr1).

jpoole - a GS 455... like buttah!

Vee - I'll suffer your suspension for you if it comes to that. Thanks for posting!

Well the 68 was an older car that we rebuilt after it was crashed. The 75 was new, ordered from the dealer equipped exactly like I wanted it. (Then I got married 2 years later and had to sell it.) I ordered it with heavy duty suspension and the highest engine option available for that year.

Bjv...An '83 Citation? Why'd you get rid of that gem? LOL.

http://dnptaylor.com/images/Cars/1992Dodge.jpg This was the model beast I first inherited, except it was blue. Same wood, same wire hub caps. Once I was done.... Well the sliding door wasn't the same and it wasn't meant for a family anymore lol. I feel bad for the kids these days, you can't have more then one passenger or whatever, that van had standing room only sometimes. Ah memories. So at 25 after years of ridicule in high school I bought the V. 'nuff said

I really liked the Citation, and that particular one was a good car for us and had a lot of good features. Back in the gas crisis of 1980, the Citation had just come out and I remember a test in one of the magazines where the car got good numbers for the day in handling plus it got real good mileage. We tried to order one from a dealer but they said they never got it. Rumors were that they got it and sold it to someone else for more than what they had priced it to us for. We ended up buying a plain one off the lot. It was a good car, we put a lot of miles on it, towed our camping trailer all over the western US, and got up to 34mpg (without the trailer, 20mpg with the trailer). About 1982 the X/11 got restyled with bigger wheels and tires, different body panels, the whole bit, including a 2.8L HO V6 of about 140hp. We spotted one on a dealer's lot in Austin and my wife went crazy. It is hard to make a deal with a salesman when your wife is standing next to the car jumping up and down. Anyway we liked the car, it was almost the "V" of its day. We towed our camping trailer with it too. We had 90k miles on it and we had already agreed to give it to the neighbor's daughter when she turned 16. That's when I bought my 1990 SHO.

My first car was an '80 Citation. It was a 5 door fastback and was a pretty decent car. Had the 2.8 V6 with 4 speed manual O/D. The only problem was that it didn't have a tach. So I shifted on sound. It served me well until I took a long, high .g onramp and my fuel pump wasn't strong enough to keep from oil starving 1/2 the cylinder banks. I banged up a couple rod bearings.

My father used to have a GS400 convertible. But when he got married he sold it and ended up going on a foreign trip starting with a Saab 99. Replaced that with a '72 2002 and has had that ever since.

None of us took any threads like that down. I didnt see any moved threads either.

Newbs. Neurotic, egotistical, whining, bull shit. One level above CTS-wannabe-V-badged-swapped-in-a-mesh-grill posers.

Whatcha used to own? Might as well just whip em out and see who's got the biggest and longest. Jimbo, you can do better.

I was just cleaning out my hotmail account of old emails and found the PayPal receipt for my FG2 shocks back in '05.

I still can't believe that I purchased these shocks from a guy whose email was crocked _ on _ millerlight @ blah blah blah...
