1998 seville sts. This will be alittle long sorry... I am having a serious problem here. I have had two half shafts break on me. One passenger side on a left turn and one drivers side on a right turn. Both broke at the inner boot causing the halfshaft too seperate from inner boot. One of the halfshafts was new too. The reason I replaced one, was because there is a loud clicking noise when i turn right. With two new shafts, the clicking is still present and still loud. It clicks from 10mph+. Other related problems : Car is pulling to the left, vibrations from 65-75, steering wheel is cocked to the right about an 1/8 of a turn. What could be causing all of this? Ball joint? tie rod? wheel bearing? motor mounts? I'm lost. Thanks for any advice in advance. And yes, I did search, and search, and search......:bonkers:

whoa whoa whoa not all at once.. lol jk. I endeded up figuring it out. Had my brother brake torque it and I saw that the engine is lifting big time. So im thinking its that front hydraulic mount.
I'm thinking you are right. Glad you did some investigating. I doubt anyone would have nailed that one. I sure wouldn't have.

Yea I was about to take it to the stealership to have it looked at. The front mount is in stock at dealer for 145 or 100 shipped from gmpartsdirect. Since its my DD I might have to go to the dealer for the part becaust the problem is pretty bad and shouldn't wait. Oh, and by the way I will give credit to Domino1968 because in his cv joint write up he explained somewhere that his motor mount caused his problem. Thats where i got the idea to check it.
post back if this solves the problem...
My car "clicks" turning right too.. None of your other symptoms thought and I replaced the motor mount about 11 months ago...
Atleast the CV shafts are cheap and not that hard to replace.

Front hydralic mount? whats that? where is it? what does it look like?
is it like a motor mount?
It IS a motor mount filled with fluid to dampen vibration.

Well, I am waiting for my part to get in. But I did take out the mount. I was very surprised to see that the mount itself wasn't bad. Actually the mount is almost exactly 1 year old. BUT, whoever put it on last never tighten the tope bolt on the mount all the way down (I could loosen it with my fingers). So from the engine bouncing on it, the threads ended up flattening and stripping out. This allowed the bracket to rise with the engine while the mount stayed there. This is why you should ALWAYS MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS TIGHT!!!!!

where is it located?
Not exactly sure. I'd have to look at a FSM.

Well I fixed the mount problem but the clicking is still there when i turn right. I have no idea what is making the noise... wheel bearing, power steering pump... I have not a clue!

CV Joint.
So if I understand this..
When the motor mount fails it puts strain on the CV joints which can cause them to fail...When the CVs fail they click...
My motor mount failed about 12 months ago and was replaced... so its probably good... My car is also clicking on right turns... Could my old (failed) mount strained the left CV joint to a point where it needs to be replaced now too...???
Does that make sense? Is that what is happening with Philly's car too?

Both of my cv joints are brand new.
Not sure about the motor mount theory (sounds plausible), but clicking on turns is very indicative of a bad CV joint.
