My 06 V has been a great car. With some minor work it puts 355hp to the rear wheels and I couldn't enjoy it more... Except... I'm 6'3" and the non-telescoping steering wheel stinks. I can never get in a comfortable position with the steering wheel and I'm braking by pushing my right foot sideways, Forget Heel/toe shifting.
The 08 CTS has a telescoping wheel. I'm wondering if it is possible to retrofit an 06 CTS with a telescoping steering wheel without spending a fortune.

Not as tall as you but couldn't agree with you more....not sure about retro fitting an 08, but I'm seen some stranger fabrications that worked well.....

No it would not be possible. Even if it was somehow fabricated, it would not be safe. The mechanism in the column which absorbs engery in a frontal crash is designed only to function with a specific vehicle and restraint system.

However, the 09 V will have a power adjusting rake (as opposed to tilt) and telescoping steering column.

Saw an episode of "Chop Cut Rebuild" yesterday. One guy wanted to know how another guy got his customized car so straight. The guy answered, "With hundred dollar bills."

I also cannot get into a optimal seating position in my V. Telescoping steering wheel would be awesome.
