Well I notice that sometimes my Eldorado gets this whirring or whining sound when it's running. As I accelerate, the sound accelerates so to speak lol, and when I idle it remains steady. But I have noticed it's intermittent and I really can't pinpoint when it starts like at a certain speed or RPMs. Good luck on figuring this one out.

Whirring?... Do you know what side of the engine compartment it's coming from at least?

Try taking a length of rubber hose and use it like a stethescope to locate where it's coming from. Just saying a whirring noise is kinda vague. It can be a huge number of things... Could be a pulley bearing starting to fail. Could be you're low on power steering fluid. Could be a belt is getting old... It's hard for us to diagnose stuff like this. The more details you give about your problem the better.

I am 95% sure it's coming from the left side of the engine compartment (if I were facing it) and I can never detect it when the car is in park, only when I'm on the road, and if it helps any I never hear it outside of the car, only from the inside.

That would be the right side (left & right is always given from the drivers seat). Have someone rev the engine while you listen. BE CAREFUL AROUND THE MOVING BELT. On the right side you have the alternator, A/C clutch, P/S pump, idler and tensioner, any of which could cause what you are hearing.

I kinda wonder if it's the "classic" bad wheel bearing hum... Does it change pitch with vehicle speed or engine rpms?

That's correct Krashed, it ascends as I go faster but it does come and go. By the way, I don't have any trouble codes.

A bearing usually growls rather than whines. You can verify it by pulling the wheel left & right like a NASCAR driver warming his tires. A bad bearing will get louder when loaded and quieter when unloaded.
