I don't care much for performance and handling. The rides different with them. Bad thing was: I hit the brakes pretty hard (not like full force, near accident miss hard but stop on the red light hard) dont know how to put it but my 2 front wheels swerved side to side for a few seconds. Guess I can't brake that hard then. Other then that, braking is tougher, kinda bumpier ride. I'll take that for big rims. :yup:

If your brakes are pulling side to side it could be one of two things. Either your alignment is off (definetly get that done if you haven't, since you put on new rims) or your pads have worn unevenly. 20's (especially chrome) weigh alot more than your stock rims, so its harder for the brakes to stop them than with the stock rims. You may want to look into getting better pads (ebc makes great ones, tirerack.com) and better rotors.

Should have gotten a Honda or something if you do not care about the ride/handling. That is kind of what Cadillacs are know for.

first: i don't understand... you don't like the ride of the 20's but you want 22's?!?!

second: i think 22's will look to big on a catera...

third: those 20's look tight as F**K!! i like

No offense meant but you guys are nuts. Maybe I'm just too old but 22" wheels with the requisite low low low profile tires would look silly on a Catera. Even the 20"ers look way too big. That's not taking into account the poor riding and handling you'll get. The tire sidewalls will be too thick to flex. You might as well put 24"ers on and wrap them with rubber bands. If that's the look you're after, performance be damned, then fine. I just don't get it.

oh btw, was at a rim shop today. Asked him bout the 22's on the catera. He said he doesnt think 20s would fit. I showed him, must have felt dumb. Anyway he said I would need to remove the strut tower in the front or some shit. I'm telling you man, its all haters. Everyone says this wont fit or that won't fit. ITLL FIT.

They'll fit, its just a matter of how much time and money you wana put into it. I'm sure your transmission and drivetrain will loooooooove even bigger rims, and should start giving you some problems as thanks.

Rear will fit easy and if not get bigger springs ,ill even find a car that you can get them from, fronts you can get stiffer springs also but its just gonna raise the car. you will need to get spacers or a big offset to move the rim away from the strut cause it will rub it...

yeah, people gave me fits about putting 22's on my sh*t to.

but all that matters is if you like it. i'm all about big rims! just check out my car domain profile... i don't roll anything less than 22's. and the only reason i only have 22's on the aviatior is because its my wifes & i wouldn't trust her with 24's yet. but in my opinion 22's are to big for a catera. it would be like putting 24's on the cts. when you got to start lifting your sh*t it starts looking funny. like a 4x4 or somthing. 20's on a catera look real good! and they fill up the wheel well perfect.

but hey if your set on 22's do it. and post some pics ASAP! cuz i ain't never seens a catera on 22's and have always wanted to. another thing to think about, it will suck as a daily driver and if you drive a lot the ride and the gas milage are gonna suck ass...
