Hi everyone. I'm looking to by the second Gen CTS but was wondering how the first gens are holding up. How many miles do you guys have and how have they been? Who has the highest miles. My current car is a 2000 Chrysler 300M. It's got 111K and has been great. Biggest problem is I had to replace the AC internals for 1800 but other than that nothing but small stuff. I'm hoping the CTS is as reliable.

Whay are way too many miles?

I boutght mine at about 32K a little over a year ago & just past 40K. No major issues, but a handful of little things. Couple handfuls really. I wouldn't buy one unless it still had plenty of factory warranty left or if it was certified. Mine seems to have more problems than most others on here, but there's no way I'd ever buy another Caddy unless it had some sort of warranty left! I don't plan on keeping mine much after the warranty is gone either.

2006 w/ 23K drive it like I stole it daily, no major problems, but I bang on her rear end like I'm Ron Jeremy, so ask me in 3 yrs about problems (if her rear starts to leak), but then again I'll be in a V in 3 yrs so ask the next owner how aggressive I was w/ my 06.

i bought my 05 in may of this year w/ 50,199 miles... now i have 52,748...

no problems whats so ever... but then again i don't drive it much... (2500 miles in 6 months)

30,000 miles

05 w/ 3.6. Picked it up in August 05 w/ 6K miles and now have 72K on it. Two rearends within the first 6 months but no problems since (knock on wood).

Very early '03 that I bought new in mid-'04. I'm up to 89,000 miles with no mechanical issues. I've had the AC evaporator housing replaced (leaking inside), the HID adjusters broke and both headlights were replaced. All work was covered under warranty. I don't baby it at all . . . it was meant to be driven! lol

Mine has almost 90K and no problems since I bought it about 4 months ago...going for an inspection when I go get my winter tires, but I think everything is good.

my 03 has 91k and runs like a champ espically with the nitrous :nox:

these trannys andengines are tough they have been blown (supercharged) and sprayed and keep on chuggin!!!!

Does the CTS have an evaporator issue where it goes after 5 years? How much did it cost to replace. I paid almost 1800 to replace the evaporator along with some other items in my 300M. That's an expensive repair and I hope that isn't a CTS problem too.

'04 with 66,000 miles. Picked it up on 11/14/03, so in about two weeks I will have owned it for 4 problem free years.

12,500 miles. Engine idle/stalling problems. Dealer keeps trying different things to fix it. Transmission slips and shifts slowly. Other smaller things like broken sail panel, trim pieces falling off, lots of rattles and clunks, etc. I think I got a lemon.

03 CTS with 185 000kms, I don't know what that is in miles but it's up there. no real problems except the tranny cool lines falling off. If that didn't happen then I wouldn't have to fix the tranny. Oh ya, my heater core went, and that's really it minus the normal maint.

Paid $21k in February on this year

had 20k miles on there....now it has 35k! holy chit!!! :thepan::hide:

Bought my 04 CTS in Oct. of 03. Four years and 89K miles later no problems.

Got my 2006 new last year, daily driver, just flipped 32,000. My trunk/tail light went out at 15,000.
I may be nuts, but this thing actually seems faster than when I first got it.

I love this car, Caddy convert for life.

My Z-28 which I beat the living daylights out of never had a single problem in it's 99K miles I owned it. My current Corvette on the other hand has had a lot of little issues but nothing engine or drivetrain wise. My 300M was great till about 90K when I started to run into maintenance issues.

I'm just shocked to hear of constant rear end problems, parts falling off etc. This stuff doesn't happen on their cheaper cars and it sure as H shouldn't happen on the CTS. I'm holding off till 2009 for the new CTS just to make sure I don't go through the growing pains of the car.

50K problem free miles so far. Plan to keep it and put another 100K miles on it. Had 3 different boys between the ages of 12 and 15 yell "cool car" to me just this past week. :D

83k. Bought new in Dec. 03. replaced rear seal and wheel bearing on passenger side. all under warranty.

bought mine in 2005, i have 2yrs with my cts an i have 18,500 miles

21,000 on my 2006, never been back to the dealer yet :shhh:

'03 with 48000 miles. 1 problem that was covered under warranty and has really only been in the shop 2 days since i've owned. flawless.

03 with 106,000 miles. Replaced noisy diff at 38,000 and battery at 105,00. That's it. It's a great car!!

128,000 on 03CTS

0-101,000 miles, no real problems, while under warranty, of course.
101,000 - 123,000:
Replaced Transmission-$5k, right rear wheel bearing $700, Rear Axle seals leaked $700, replaced AC compressor $1,700, Left Side fuel coil Pack, both Valve covers regasketed, right rear shock replaced. Exhaust leak , need entire exhaust replaced. THis car went nuts right after the warranty expired.

late '03 with 125,000 kms (she's all paid :thumbsup:)

- driveshaft replaced (defective carrier bearing that would hum) (not under warranty but GM provided the materials as goodwill and I paid only for labour)
- oxygen sensors replaced
- whiney diff. since about 20,000kms, but dealer said it was normal. No problems with it so far.

I think that's it. Still loving this car!

Have Blk CTS with 19,400 a awesome car so my wife says.

I have 79000 miles on my 04 CTS with the 3.6 L V6 and it still feels like new.
I over maintain the car but it is worth it. I want an 08 in black cherry but it will have to wait awhile.
