from what i hear its a 600hp motor....they are saying its going to be the most powerful 4 door out there....even beating the m5

The original V bested even the M5 at the time and of course the M3, S4 and C55, and Lutz did say the current M5 "would get it's doors sucked off" by the new V. I suppose the V will weigh even more than the C63, but even 550 hp should assure it a sub 4 sec 0-60 and a mid to low 12 et with about 118 trap speed, especially equipped with a manual six speed (wheelhop hopefully solved). Thosse results show that the RS4 is slower than the current V at top end, the new M3 is just a bit quicker, but only 3 mph higher trap speed thaan the current V, but that C63 is pretty nasty. Still if the new V can beat the C63 by just a bit and price it in the 60's it should sell very well. And if an auto tranny becaomes available as an option it will broaden it's market.

I'm still in my SRT-8 and the only thing on this list that scares me is the C63. I've got the M3 and the RS4 easily in my wheelhouse, but 12.3 second quarter mile times? Are you kidding me!? And 3.9 second 0-60!? That's stupid fast and an automatic to boot! The new CTS-V better step up. They'll need to deliver 500+ horsepower in an under 4,000 lb. chasis to compete.

youre right, the M3 is not as strong as it should be, in fact it may turn out to be quicker in subsequent testing because the power to weight ratio is there. That Merc is an assasin however. I bet that 450 hp 6.2L is probably well underrated, so that the CLS63 and E63 owners with 500 horsepower don't feel ripped off, the C63 probably has the same 500 HP which would make more sense as far as the acceleration times.
That said, a properly tuned maggied V will take all these guys so you have to figure that the factory supercharged 6.2L in the new model will also prevail, and probably by larger margin if it can launch better.
And the Lexus IS-F in that same website also looks impressive with a mid 12 second QM and a 114 mph trap, quicker than the M3 for sure, and equipped with an 8 speed automatic with very close ratios.

Besides, is there anyone who has predicted that the V will have less than 505hp? That's a minimum. And the weight won't be over the C63. Hopefully, it can stay under 4,000lbs...

The V will be 525-550 hp.

I'll know more on Sunday. Last 1/4 mile time was a 12.94. With the new Predator tune, I may have shaved off the 11 hundreths needed to keep up with the M3. Now on a road course, you're correct. Then again, who would run this pig on a road course? I mean, you'd have to be nuts! :lildevil:

It better be. It has to be.

I think it's pretty much confirmed to be 550 or very near to that number.

Yeah, I saw that. BTW, my track time sucked. Those of you that keep up with me on the "other" forums know the story. Not worth repeating, but in a nut shell, don't let someone from a speed shop mess with your Predator tune just before you go make your run. :banghead:

YUP, and deadly repeatable.

Did I read that right??? 3.9 seconds 0-60?!?!It is very easy to get those numbers in the AMG. The M3 is a bit harder to launch but look at the numbers after that. They're pretty much identical from 30 on until they get well up into triple digits and the endless flow of torque just keeps pulling.

Still, give me the M3...especially on the track...
