PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — Jim Belushi is being sued by the 78-year-old father of his former driver, who accuses him of selling a used 2001 Land Rover that turned out to be a lemon.

Ted Lewandowski worked as Belushi's driver when the star was filming the Walt Disney movie "Underdog" in Providence. He claims the sport utility vehicle needed more than $6,000 in repairs — and he demands that Belushi pay.

Dear lord...you buy a USED Land Rover, even one that's immaculate, from years ago...and then are mad because you have to drop a few $k in typical repairs.

Not uncommon, and sounds like someone needs an instant reality check--instead of instantly seeing dollar signs from a former celebrity owner.

All sales between individuals are as-is. There are no warranties unless there is something specific in writing.

Exactly, too...regardless of even the person says "it's perfect."

It may very well be...but that doesn't mean they've guaranteed you it will continue to be flawless after you start driving it. It's a car, and they break...especially when they're a high dollar machine from quite a few years back.

Haha, man buys a used british luxury car and complains of expensive repairs! That's like me buying a '74 Coupe deVille and complaining that it only gets 8 to the gallon!

I am glad I told my brother in law to stay away from the 2002 HSE on eBay for $12K...

The pre-2003 Range Rovers are a nightmare for all but the most die-hard of Land Rover fans. Lucas electrics, ancient architecture etc etc. Its a bad combination all around.

On the same note, I probably wouldnt recommend a Northstar Cadillac to anyone I cared about, but I on the otherhand, cant get enough of them.

It's like a completely gorgeous girl with a terrible attitude and a redicuiously annoying laugh. You can't get enough of her, but you would not recommend her to anyone you cared about.

LOL, and that quart of stop leak you made her drink didn't solve anything at all.

Well it probably shut her up, at least for a little while. LOL
