Today I parked my car in my driveway and left the driver side window open. My remote for some reason failed to work so I reached in and pressed the LOCK button and waited till the alarm signal on the dashboard disappeared.

So far so good….

When I came back my remote still not working so I reached in and pressed the Unlock bottom….. Here comes the dump part:
The alarm was disengaged and I managed to open the door!!:cookoo:
That means that any one can enter my car if the widows were open ………..

I had Honda Legend coupe (Acura) and if I did this the alarm goes off :want:….

Did they miss this when designing the security system or what?

The funny part if you try unlocking the door by pulling the lock knob the alarm goes off LOL

... That means that any one can enter my car if the widows were open

Far be it from me to point out the obvious...but if your windows are OPEN, anyone can get in anyhow. :wtf:

Since the CTS is not a convertible, they did not design the alarm that way. RightTurn made a good point there.

Thats way shouldn't keep your windows open... I mean, of course anyone can break into your car if the windows are open...

And dumb is the word you're looking..

I think I failed to express my point.
When I said " That means that anyone can enter my car if the widows were open ……….." I meant someone with bad intention…

It's obvious that "the security people" included the scenario anyone might leave the window(s) open and that's why the alarm goes off if you pull up the lock knob. But why they didn’t include the power lock/unlock button in the design which is much easier for anyone (with bad intention) to have access to my car?
Isn’t preventing access to the car is the 1st defense of protection?!

If the window is down you don't even need to unlock the door - just climb in through the window ala Bo and Luke Duke. I know what you are saying, but it is really not practical.

Don't worry about it urbanski I'm used to making such mistakes since writing in English is my weakest. I'm glad that I managed to bring up a smile from these mistakes http://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/smileys-91853/aiw/grin.gif

Rblimas do you think they give privet tottering? :eyebrow:

It looks like that I'm the only one seeing this false in the alarm system design :helpless:
…… don't come crying when a hijacker get into your car by pressing on the Unlock button :lildevil:

dont worry, just spend enough time here and they will be having you use words like "tangible" lol

i see what you're talking about but not a lot of people know where the unlock button is... unless they are in the car.

You know, if your that concerned then either disable or relocate the unlock button and problem solved.

I never use this button anyways, just the remote.

Sorry for rising up the thread…

I would like to apologize to cadiy about this issue. Today I discovered after locking the car and the alarm system is armed (security light on the dashboard goes off) the unlock button is disabled… that mean that the only way to unlock the door while the windows are down is by pulling the manual unlock levers and that will setoff the alarm ….

Good job cadi……….

I believe the keyfob is what sets the alarm. thats how my GP worked. the lock button doesnt set the alarm. If you were to lock the doors with the windows down, using the keyfob it sets the alarm...
