I was going to go take some snapshots of the Rover and some of the fall weather, but my batteries were dead and needed a charge. I noticed there's some 15-minute rechargeables out now from Energizer and Rayovac. Are these for real?

In 15 minutes, I could theoretically just keep a charger in the car and have a fresh set on hand at any moment. They almost seem to good to be true.

These have actually been on the market for a few years, Jesda...

I've been using them for all sorts of things, & in my experience they live up to the billing. Still using a half-dozen or so that I bought nearly three years ago...

I've bought an Energizer 4 pack with the 15 minute charger included. I keep them on rotation between my Xbox 360 controllers and Digicam- probably been recharged 50 to 100 times and still work like a champ. Great investment, IMO.

They are great....

They definitely last longer in my XBox 360 controller than regular throw away batteries....

They're better in my R/C transmitters, too...

There's an initial investment, but you'll be money ahead in no time...

Yup, Energizers too. Bought them cause my old Toshiba digital camera was a battery hog...

they are lithium, 15min full charge, home or car adapter included. They heat up a lot, even have a cooling fan built in. They last far longer then any standard battery too... in my new Canon digital camera, also uses 4 AA, I have never ran it low on batteries yet, and I've taken lots of pictures.

I think they all suck. I have Energizers with the Energizer quick charger, I have Duracell's I've used both with the quick charger and a regular charger and they don't last for crap.

I use them in the flash for my camera. If I buy regular titanium Energizers they outlast the rechargeable ones 5:1 easily. AND the rechargeables don't hold a charge either. If I don't use them that day, they're almost dead the next day.

Rechargeable batteries suck in my opinion.

My digital camera goes weeks without being used, then works great and last a really long time on the same charge...

Sony rechargeable batteries are by far the best. I have several sets and have been using them for well over a year now. They may be sold as sony cyber-shot batteries, but they are definitely for more than the cybershot camera.

It depends on the flavor of rechargable. Ni-Cads self discharge by a natural process. Li-ion less so but are subject to other vagueries. Ni-Cads have a much lower internal resistance and thus supply short bursts of high current. You pay your money and take your chances.
