Just purchased this car from the Seattle area and imported it into Canada this August. Every Friday the local track has test n tune but while I was in town and not away for work the weather didnt cooperate. So this morning I took it in for a baseline dyno run.

05 CTS-V ~19500km
Magnacharged
Lingenfelter CAI
StealthV Tuned

420rwhp 361ft/lbs

Not too bad, about what I was expecting, this thing still has stock exhaust until this winter when I get headers and a Corsa system. Also going to get StealthV to reflash the ECM for that and then see what the local tuners can do above/beyond that. They figure with the headers/exhaust and tune 470-500rwhp, any thoughts?

... They figure with the headers/exhaust and tune 470-500rwhp, any thoughts? ...That might be the upper end of what to expect.

I was hoping for something in the 470-480 range, but someone (onebadcad?) told me that 450 is probably more realistic (with a 2.8" pulley). He's probably right, but I dyno'd about 350 just before the maggie, and I was hoping for at least 110-120 added to that 350 number. Need more time to complete the whole business and then redyno ... too much stuff goin' on.

Is your 420 with the Magnuson tune and a 2.8" pulley?

Headers and 2.6 pulley are good bangs for the buck.

Shoot me an email with the previous owners name; if the V is the one I'm thinking of, your tune is several years old and there's a nice update for you for the way it sits today.

Yep, you just sent me the previous owners worksheet a couple weeks ago, its dated may 31st 2006.

I'm working on getting a second ECM.... can you burn them as they come from the dealer or does it actually have to be in the car first?

No, the PCM doesn't have to be in the car first so whenever get a PCM send it on in.

Capt. Obvious, how about giving us the history on 3.0", 2.8" and 2.6" pulleys and what effect each has?

Still on the 3.0" pulley here, but just dyno'd StealthV's new(er) tune that was put in the car a few weeks ago.

40hp
40tq
GAIN :)

460hp/403tq

Remeber all this is exiting through the stock exhaust still, Headers and a Corsa system are waiting in my basement, thats the next mod.... Then we'll see about a smaller pulley.

Looks like it may actually be nice enough to drive our cars for the next few days! I think I'll take mine out tonight.
