Jon I do love the blacked out grill. One suggestion...maybe remove the license plate from the windshield next time. The pics are great, though.

Thanks for the compliments and suggestion. :) I will take the plate out next time just for you, lol! I like keeping it in there so it still shows that it's my car and not someone elses. ;)

...sorry but a bit boring and lacks....ah...Black?

Plate needs to go and maybe a new industrial look rather than? I liked your garage shots much better...Had mas balz...The background now is like a Juvy detention building and a Jr. Park...Less is more. *grin* Maybe clear the fogs all the way?

I've been looking to get a new camera, do you think this is a step up from the Canon SD550?

Mostly happy with the 550 Just sometimes it has troubles with light and the image stabilization isn't the best.

I'm not sure about the 550, but I had a S500. To be honest the SD1000 is not much of a difference. Main thing is resolution, that's it. I also found my old S500 to be sharper than the SD1000. In terms of image stabilization, it's not that great either. My day time shots are all taken by hand. But my night time/indoor shots are all taken on a tripod with high exposure.

It's a good camera for day to day use. But for "professional" photos I'd recommend a better one. I just make do with what I have. I usually take a LOT of photos when I go out, and less than 25% of them come out the way I want them to.

Same here. I will just stick with my SD550 for now. Already 7.1 mp.

Any secrets you would like to share about the manual settings you use for outside shots during the day?

Like your pic skills Jon. My full auto pics don't look anything as good as yours.
