Love the site, OK you guys I have a 05 STS V6 RWD. It has the original miserable Michelin tires on it now 235-50-17 fr and 255-45-17 rear. I would like to buy 4 winter tires but no one I have found has a matching set of snow tires this size. My dealer he told me he has never ran into this before ?? ( I live in upstate New York) but said I would need to stick with the factory sizes but he didnt know where I could get them. He also said if I ran with 235 50 17s all around which Bridgestone makes it would affect the electronics. Has anyone else ran up against this?? Thanks

I have an '06 V8 AWD STS. I use 235/45/17 WS-50 Blizzaks all the way around and it works perfectly. TireRack had a big closeout sale and I got them for $132 each.

I have Michelin Pilot Alpin 235/50/17 on all 4 corners on the same car you have.

2 seasons with no problems. Your dealer is wrong about having to keep the same sizes front / rear.

The winter performance of these tires on this car is acceptable.

Edit:

I switch over to the factory tires on aftermarket rims in the summer (back to the different front & rear tire sizes) and all I have to do is reprogram the Tire Pressure Monitors using the instructions in the owners manual.

Thanks so much for the info just wondering if you used the 235 50 17 snows on the rear using the 255 45 17 rims.

Yep. :yup:

I keep the rims in the same place (front to rear) and the tire size 235/50/17 fits on both wheels.

when you do this, do you have the tire pressure sensors switched to the aftermarket rims? Or is that something you can do yourself???

I have pressure sensor monitors installed in both sets of rims. When I switch them, I just reprogram following the instructions in the owners manual.
