:bouncy: I used the same trick for the SRX hitting the sound button above the volume button I/O for 3 seconds. I put in the code 1791 which is the code for the SRX. It worked!!. Enjoy watching DVD while driving-BUT KEEP UR EYE ON THE ROAD!

The DVD player is disabled to sound only while driving. In park you are able to watch sound and vid.With the hack code you can now watch both!

Your ducks are definitely not in a row. You can "hear sound" while driving but the DVD will show NO picture. Also you say that you watch sound while in park. I usually listen to sound.

Does anyone know what the code is for the 2005 STS to watch a DVD?:banghead:

The STS uses a different system than the XLR/SRX. Furthermore, I believe that the codes even for the XLR/SRX have been disabled for year 2005 builds.

:banghead: I did the code thing on my XLR 05 and now I am getting nothing. It is now worst than before attempting the code. I now put in my CD for my map and the XLR is telling me to install the CD which is already in. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!

You must have done something wrong... i tried it on my 04 and it worked fine... awsome code

hi everyone, new owner 2005 black xlr, just got last week. if i read this thread right all i have to do to watch a dvd while traveling down the road is to hold the sound button avove the volume button for 3 seconds and it asks for a code which is 1791 for 2005 xlr and thats it, my passenger can watch the movie while i drive down the road? thanks for all your help.

I may be wrong, however it is my understanding that the hack code that allowed access to the 2004 XLR DVD player while in motion has been removed in the 05 model year. I don't know if there is a code for the 05's.

You have to hit it everytime. You are basically putting it in maintenance mode.
