I bought my brother's 92 Seville several years ago. It has the Bose Gold, I guess it is, stereo. The left front door speaker has never worked, other than a slight crackle now and then. My wife was driving it home the other day (radio on) and heard a little pop and smelled the old electrical fire smell. When she got it home I nosed around a little, no pun intended, took the grill off of the door and pulled the speaker. Talk about stink! I located two fuses in the trunk labled radio and both were good. The radio still works as before ... fader moves it from front to rear... why no left/right adjustment on it is beyond me. I took the grill and speaker out of the right side and tested the driver's door speaker in it. Speaker works fine.
So, I guess the amp in the left door is blown. My questions are: is there another amp in the HU for that speaker, that could have been burned out as well and the important one ..... is it safe to leave the fuses in and just keep playing it as usual? I guess while I'm at it, where is a good, cheap place online, to get another left door amp? Thanks
