A few shots from this past weekend at PIR in Phoenix.

Lots of good action and the Toyo's R888 stuck like glue all day - Good news was that no one passed me all day:) - The "gooder" news...Caddy dominated.

The body kit looks good from what i see in the pic's. i would like to see how it looks on a Silver V. But it's a lot of money for the kit right?

Some pretty hard-core machinery at that event, Chef!

Looks like the Navy is sending me up that way as of next March, so perhaps I'll see you out there next year. :)

I know it's silly billy but was the only way to cut and fit the big stuff up front. Would hate to have just done the front flairs in fear of looking like Mic Jagger:cool2:....:bonkers:

The flares look awesome. Where did you get and how much? Did you have to use spacers on the wheels to get them to sit under flares right?

Oh, wait, wrong PIR! Phoenix v. Portland. I guess I won't be joining you next year. :)

:helpless: It's not a spoiler, it's a wing. And I'm sure the guy doesn't give a shit how it looks since it's not back there to be pretty. Go to a Porsche club racing event and you'll see plenty of cars with wings just like that.

Chef, those are some outstanding pics! Way to go representing Caddy, too! And with that much body roll, those tires definitely do look like they're sticking all right.

Can hardly wait till you get a video of an event like that. Say, how's that progressing, anyway?

Oh, wait, wrong PIR! Phoenix v. Portland. ...Have to have a pretty shallow draft on your ship to sail into Phoenix. :D

I'm fine with the wing part of it. It's the monstrosity below the wing attached to the rear that I think looks horrible. But upon closer inspection it appears that does serve some purpose by possibly routing air into the engine bay. Regardless, it's still ugly as hell...and yes I'm sure the owner doesn't give a damn.

Those guys were pros in the Blue & White Cup cars and were running test laps at 1:02 times - Their cars are sick and the extended wing is a must have for down draft with those bullets.

Specter Werkes Flairs and an additional $1,800.00 to body fit. Flairs were around $1,100.00 or so

Chef,
How does a V do on a track? What are cars strengths or weaknesses?

This was the first time with the new set-up and engine and it was on rails from the get-go. Tires stuck and the wider front tires made the potential push not happen as much - From all the others that saw me from the rear said the car looked like it was drifting slightly out of each turn which is what you want plus the traction - I was only at 1.16 on each side yet I made myself sick on the second session (dizzy).:D

Exceleration and torque were all the way through the band as expected so when I lapped cars it was flying through the twisties on everyone's arse and even the Lotus S got spanked badly. T2 shocks, sways, toes and arms were rocking -

I DID GET Black flagged:banghead: for lapping a porsche on the second lap of a yellow - pulled in the hot pits, got warned and then proceeded to pick cars off one by three.

Weakness is the weight and overall braking ability in my opinion - I had zero fade with the Hawk HPS-+ pads but the Porsche's are dialed in to suspension, weight, braking and torgue if they have work done. We have a sled and aero dynamically challenged - It's fun to see the expressions though from the 2-door community.

Can hardly wait till you get a video of an event like that. Say, how's that progressing, anyway?

Have a video but it's full of wind noise which I wasn't prepared for - Channel 12 happened to be there and interviewed me and other drivers out there and has asked for the tape to do a show coming up:annoyed: will see how that goes.

flares ruin the car, look out of place, and just take away from the cold geometric lines our V's feature that I love so much.

Chef,
You da man!!! Kick ass on the track and send them home wondering what the hell was that guy driving-I bet a few racers from that day are still in awe. By the way, the flares work for me, without them you could not push the car as hard, so they are more than worth it. You need to get some sponsors to pay for carbon fiber panels and a nice TT/SC pushing around 6 psi.

When I want a "pretty" car I'll by a Ferrari - I could care less about how cute the car looks hince my black-out. I'd rather leave an impression of wtf? rather than...his cars is pretty and those lines are grand "grin"

Are the sires rules based on best timed lap, or is it a competition against other cars head to head?

We follow the SCCA rules up here, but with out a roll cage etc. There's no passing in competition.

Also is it a national event through out the US or is it a State event only? I'm planning to make a few trips out to the US next year like I said; it would be fun to race/chat with a fellow CTS driver. Good Luck

Most groups or organizations have it similar to this:
DE-1
DE-2
DE-3
Race Group 4 & TT

Called HPDE - High Performance Drivers Education - Limited passing in the first stages then 2-3 a lot more anywhere and then race anywhere at any time (full roll cages and liscence as well) Time attack is really based on class.

Chef, Everyone has one of those porsche bullets. I see lots of them at all the NASA events I go to. I bet you are the only Caddy at your events. Keep em guessin'. Add the wind deflection device(in black of course). The car looks sick.
Can't wait for the video. Next time you can chauffer(sho fer) the news crew around with you. Something else the 2 doors can't do.

Chef,

You definitely represent the V community very well. Great shots and can't wait to see some video footage. I love track events b/c I'm the only one driving a Caddy. I swear more people come to tell me how awesome and fast my car is than any other car in the paddock...and there are usually some pretty expensive cars there. It's that 'wtf' expression that others give you that makes me love the Caddy all the more!

Its a great magazine and you can get a copy free(top right) to check it out. I noticed a couple of tracks in Canada on the list.

Good luck and get out to the track. Your V needs this.
