Hey guys, I'm the current owner of a 1996 Impala SS, and I'm looking to get into a CTS-V. I was hoping for any advice as far as what to look for, things to stay away from, and preferred years. It looks like to me I'd be best in an 06, as many of the issues were worked out by then. Thanks for the hlpe guys. Also any help on where to find one would be great. Thanks!

Check the classifieds, and steer away from 04's if you can

6.0 liter > 5.7 liter

(that should stir things up)

I would recommend finding the car that you like and getting the VIN checked out at a dealer or here so you can see the service history. If it had a lot of rear end changes that would show signs of abuse. It would also let you know if it is a lemon.

Go with Black, it is the faster color and attracts the hottest babes;).
'04 has a fugly second antenna:ill:-makes it look like a undercover LEO.
If you are keeping it stock-no power adders, get the 6yr/100K warranty:D.
Get the VIN checked out before you get too committed, as a guy on here has put his V into three or four fences:crying2:---oops, forget that part, as I think he has removed it from the Classifieds.

OK, now I'll just cut to the chase! Mine is on ebay now, 04 platinum w/ black, check it out! It is listed for $28,900 with mods that most would do or at least want to do. I will take $26,500 bottom line to sell it fast! It is flawless, garage kept all it's life! Phone number is in auction on ebay! 1 1/2 years of warranty left and it has 39k on it. Someone will buy it!
