That there were 6 bosch and 2 champions that were soooo old, it was crazy.

The previous owner must have been unable to remove them, so just left um in.:nono::helpless:

Well now my car has brand new ac delco platniums in there and the slight shimmy at idle is GONE now!!!

Put a new fuel filter in as the old one was very old looking as well.

The 2 old plugs were like filled in, the electrode to tip was filled in almost!!!!

New plugs always do wonders. I replaced the plugs in my '83 Olds wagon, two of which which were just loose and loosing compression, and the rest were soiled and melted. It cured my poor idle, rich mixture, over heating, and hot cat. The car runs like top now. Glad to hear you had the same luck!

I changed the plugs on my 1987 Brougham D'Elegance and the first and fourth ones on the driver side were never changed . They must have found them too hard to get at. What a difference with new plugs.

After my home tuneup this summer, plugs, wires, dist, water pump, belts, filters, etc. my mileage increased by a full 2 mpg in city driving. I was getting only about 11 mpg, then after the tuneup and three tanks of "to and from work" (basically three weeks of driving) measure a good 13.2 mpg. Highway has not been checked yet, but I'm keeping the books for 1000 miles to get a good average mpg.
