I can do soooooooooooo much more on the 00 PCM I want to run one on my 99 engine. I have several cranks and a right bank exhaust cam gear.
Any other thoughts?
Swap crank!
Swap crank sensors!
Swap cam gear!
Swap cam sensor!
Return trans to a 00+ TFP switch!
Use 04+ ingnition system?
I am just tossing the idea around.
The 00+ is a better PCM, but the 99 runs stronger

00+ also has cop
someone did it before, it required some major modding but it was done

I will bet you that I can get a more powerful spark that lasts longer than than any 00+CNP With a wastespark DIS  How about Multipule spack discharge thoughout the entire RPM Band. How about a plug gap of .080-.120 that wont blow out:eek: :canttalk: this was my first 8-DIS But not my first custom 6-DIS:)

You would need to install an external crank sensor pickup wheel

Even if you swapped cranks and crank sensors, the angle between them would be different, and throw off the computer if it even ran at all.

How did you come up with that?

I am 100% sure that the lower case half have the same part # between the 99 and 00 blocks. I just check. I have several. Then a measured the distance up to the upper sensor hole. It is the same, but I did not measure with a caliper just a tape.:D

They can't be the same part #.

The 93-99 crank sensors are 27 degrees apart. The 2000+ crank sensors are 21.5 degrees apart.

Your measurements don't really measure angles.

The lower could be in the same location. I would say that it is in the same location. The upper is the one that may have been moved. The 5.5 is not that far off with a tape.
If this is the case. This would be the info I needed. I think I can work with the 5.5 in the 00+ PCM.

If this is the case Eldo1 you are the man.

00 to 05 information
The PCM uses dual crankshaft position (CKP A and CKP B) sensors to determine crankshaft position. The CKP sensors are mounted in the engine block approximately 21.5 degrees apart from each other. Three wires connect each CKP sensor to the PCM. The PCM supplies an ignition voltage and a ground for each CKP sensor. During engine rotation, a slotted ring, machined into the crankshaft, causes the sensors to return a series of ON and OFF pulses to the PCM. The PCM uses these pulses to decode the position of the engine crankshaft.

I would like the sleeker look of the 00 engine anyway. Oh boy my girl friend would kill me if I swapped it out. I am sure she would leave. Hmmmmm:sneaky:

At the least the bottom hole would have to be redrilled. As the 00+ sensor does not fit. both are larger in diamiter
