So what does Cadillac loan you when you bring your car in for service? A CTS? A DTS? I saw an Infiniti QX56 loaner a couple of days ago. Are there any Escalade loaners?

I saw an Infiniti QX56 loaner a couple of days ago. Are there any Escalade loaners? the dealership i go to uses an onsite Enterprise rental office for loaners. Over the years they have loaned me 1 CTS, 1 DTS and 1 Escalade RunningOnEMT 10-08-07, 09:35 AM i've gotten a malibu, an F-150, a prius, and a DTS c5 rv 10-08-07, 09:43 AM In the past month, on a number of service visits I've received an 08 SRX base, 07 CTS base (after the SRX had tire pressure problems), 07 DTS Lux I, and an 07 DTS base. submariner409 10-08-07, 01:23 PM In Annapolis, with prior service appointment, you get a CTS, a Deville, a DHS, an '03 Seville, something along those lines. Drop-in, you wind up with the yellow Focus or a Camry. TSS 10-09-07, 09:13 PM Usually a new DTS. Occasionally a new SRX. Benzilla 10-09-07, 09:30 PM What the hell? I feel cheated. I always get beat up Oldsmobiles, and one time a really beat to shit '96 Deville. But I guess that's the price you pay when the name of the dealer involves a nascar racer... gary88 10-11-07, 07:20 PM I've gotten: 2.8L CTSs DTS SRX 3.6 Hummer H3 Chevy Trailblazer Now they have '08 CTSs too Mplsspyder 10-12-07, 03:38 PM 08 CTS 07 SRX 07 DTS 08 Buick Enclave and once they tried a Ford cargo van. hueterm 10-12-07, 08:02 PM From my normal dealer (a Chevrolet dealer about 5 min. from my house), a Tahoe or Avalanche (if I get a loaner -- usually they just shuttle me). The nearest Cadillac dealer 30 miles away who replaced my EXT's NAV -- a bright red 4 door AVEO from Hertz Local -- that was "jealous girlfriend keyed" into oblivion. And no matter how hard you hit the gas, it wouldn't go any faster, it would just get louder. But it had a jack for your MP3!! :histeric: Needless to say, it stayed in the driveway for the couple days I had it, and I drove the Concours. I never realized how many 4-door 1 ton dualies and huge SUVs there are on the road (and how enormous they are) until I had to drive home in what was essentially a golf cart. :nono: No wonder the treehuggers who drive these miniscule cars want to get rid of them. Jon 10-14-07, 05:03 PM Dealers here use Enterprise.. And I've gotten really sick and tired of it.. 2 Grand Prix 1 GMC Canyon 1 Malibu 1 BASE FVCKING POS Pontiac G5 with NO power locks/windows/mirrors dqw1 10-23-07, 11:54 AM So far a DTS and an F150. caddycruiser 10-25-07, 08:50 PM Yet again, I'll say it. Cadillac as a brand REALLY needs to get a policy and support in order to ensure any Cadillac owner that brings their car in for warranty work or service is guaranteed use of a new Cadillac demo loaner. Some dealers have stepped up to the plate and the expense comes out of their own pocket, but if others like Infiniti, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, etc. can support a policy to keep owners supplied with a current brand vehicle at all times...the dealer side of things would be a MUCH better experience. I know someone who works as a tech for a Mercedes dealer in New York and, for example, they have a fleet of 80 C-classes and 30 R-classes, plus pull from Enterprise if needed, just for the loaner purpose--and still, he said, they never seem to have enough. But, too, they, as many, have a policy of only giving them to the people who bought their cars at there as well. That should be how it works with Cadillac...always a supply of new, cleaned CTS and SRX demos, as well as the occasional STS and Escalade thrown in for use--and the cost of the fleet paid for with a big chunk from Cadillac. At this point, though there are those random great dealers paying out on their own, aside from the greatness of the cars, the service experience with a Cadillac is still too "Pontiac Grand Am" and not at all what it should be mandated to be for a luxury brand. It's a "luxury" if something is wrong with your new Cadillac, you bring it in, and are lucky enough to get a Cobalt to zing around in. In other words, time to move away from the corporate GM wide warranty & service policy, and give Cadillac its own standards in this department. You'd have much happier owners all the time, and be even more able to get & keep new ones over time. TSS 10-26-07, 09:50 AM You got me thinking. My dealer, which is great (for service) always has new model Caddy loaners, is a Cadillac/Hummer dealer. I wonder if the dealers that also sell less high line models, such as Pontiac, GMC, Chevy, etc, are the more habitual offenders when it come to lack of loaner cars are poor service. caddycruiser 10-27-07, 07:52 PM You got me thinking. Yeah, it all depends. Like you've experienced, some dealers--especially on the higher end--do take it upon themselves to spend the money on a proper loaner fleet. But others don't, and it's rather understandable...and I too would assume a lot of those are dealers who also sell other brands, and are already loaded down with servicing all of those as well. As said, they just STILL need a corporate coverage policy on it, to get into the real world of a luxury car maker. Not saying that they also need to pick up the tab for ALL maintenance, like BMW, but just make sure when someone comes in with their warrantied Cadillac, they have access to a comparable car that's clean and ready to go. | |
