WOOHOO I got it running. However I have a knock that appeard from nowhere. Ill have to figure that one out. The good thing is it seems to be topend. (lets hope it really is) But heres the video I have some fine tuning to do on it to make i reliable but it runs and good. and my stumble is gone that it had. It also starts and does not flood if you mis the start like the distibuter did. I was tring to be the first in America to get this running. But some one brought it to my attention that some shop in "HOT ROD" mag. finished it before me. Probably followed me around the webhttp://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/images/smilies/ani2/rant.gif I should learn to keep my mouth shut. But heres the vid..... I left the distributer cap off so you can see its not doing any thinghttp://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif

That was my first thought. And I looked in to it, and looked twice. It figures to be right but seems like two have to be flopped. Ill look again from a dirfferent scource. Ive been using 1-2-7-3-4-5-6-8 I believe that to be correct but Ill double check:)

I know nothing of what you've done. That being said and it may sound dumb. Is the firing order the same on both motors? Mike

Start grounding plug wires and see if the knock goes away.

Use a grounded screwdriver and some paperclips on the coil towers. Don't lean up against the car, and use 1 hand.

ohh yeah I took a distributorless ignition setup off a 95 Eldorado. and installed it on my 454 BBC. . so far the timing is way more stable than it was even with my MSD pro billit distributor. (which was a good notch above stock.) This is my third DIS setup but first 8-DIS. and the Caddy engineers didnt make it none to easy to play with either. but heres a prvious post

This may also be the engine I play with MSD and CNP:canttalk:

454 is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

That would be
1 & 6
8 & 5
4 & 7
3 & 2

It has been Chevy's firing order for 50+ years.

went to check on the knock today and it was gone. Must have been a stuck lifter. I made my list of fastners to go buy. stainless cap screws will look nice.:yup: And the F.O. was right.

Good day
