I just received an invitation from St Clair Cadillac in San Jose to meet Andy Pilgram and Lawson Aschenbach one week from next Tuesday (on 10/16).
They will be at St Clair Cadillac form 6-8:30PM. I am checking to see if anybody can attend or its because I baught my EXT from them.
It's the standard meet n greet, Autograph session at 6:30 and blablabla...
Coctails and buffet included.

Also, who's going to watch the last GT race of the year at Laguna?

They did this at one of our local dealerships last year and it was a lot of fun. Andy and Lawson are great guys and seem to really enjoy chatting it up with the V owners and racing fans in general..

I've chatted with Andy at Sebring twice, and this year Lawson for the the first time. Both class acts, willing to take the time to talk to fans. Andy was floored by my business cards (they have a picture of his CTS-VR on there), and signed a bunch of posters for my Garage and Office.

Great drivers, but also a good face for Cadillac to have representing them.

No ETC (electronic throttle), I guess they don't run any stability control. Also where are the coils? I see no plug wires to track them back.

The plug wires are tied to the chassis braces welded between the shock towers and firewall. I believe the coils themselves are mounted inside the car.

The VR's do run Stability control- I remember two years ago at Laguna Seca Angelelli put on a heck of a show when his malfunctioned near the beginning of the race. Watching him play "toss and catch" with that car around the dusty track was awesome.

No porblemo Chef,

Are you coming to the race? There will be a Caddy Corral (got my pass already!).

Carroll Shelby, Funny. Now that would be something else, a Shelby edition V!

I'm curious how they run a stability control program with a wire actuated throttle.

Perhaps they have the option to run either stability control or ABS, but not both, and in this setup they opted for ABS? I seem to recal that in the rules somewhere.

Stability control can be run using just the 4-channel brake control system. It's not quite a complex as the street version (which also pulls throttle if braking fails to correct the vehicle direction), but having the computer brake one corner or the other to curtail oversteer is still better than nothing.
