What product do you guys recommend for cleaning and protecting the roof? I want to gather up some extra cleaning and care products before I pick up my Brougham mid-week :cool2:

I'm planning a mega cleaning and detailing session. There's old wax residues around trim that need attention. the car has been kept nicely but without attention to those important little details for ultimate appearance.

I want a product that lasts and stays looking good. I find Armour-All a bit short-lived on external surfaces.

A friend recommended Meguiar's leather cleaner and conditioner for the leather seats. They're just at the point where they need a good feed. Any other recommendations?

TIA,
Martin.

That is what I use on my '92 and '96 with vinyl tops.

I have been told to avoid the silicone-based "protectants" that I've used on my '88 Brougham's formal ASC roof. Here's a great discussion thread on some good products.

Thanks for the replies guys. I believe that I've seen Duragloss locally so I will have to give it a try.

I'm picking up the car most probably on Wednesday and I'm absolutely itching to start detailing it :yup:

I have always used a product called 303, which I buy at my local marine/boating supply store. The stuff is excellent, does not slick it up too much and lasts for months. Be careful not to spray it on or you will have spots on your finish that stay a long time (that's how I know it lasts!)

Another vote for 303, good stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions. I managed to pick up some 303 today from a new Canadian Tire Superstore that just opened. Couldn't get it in smaller branches.

Now I just need a Brougham to spread it on......that should happen tomorrow :cloud9:

i forget what i used on mine but it works great. some may call my methods a little unethical, but to clean the top of my caddy i used cleanser and a soft brush (of corse my roof is white) and it works great! anyone out there looking to restore the original color of that white roof of yours don't hesitate to give this a try. dont be afraid to scrub hard either. its what it takes.
