I've just been going nuts for a Cadillac lately, so I couldn't restrain myself from buying this '91 Deville. I know it's front-wheel-drive, and some of you don't consider it 'real,' but it's got the 4.9L, astroroof, keyless/alarm, gold grill, and the continental kit. I got it for $1250, and it's quite nice; lots of power.

I know I have been hunting for my 'perfect' Brougham, but being without a Caddy makes me delirious at times. I also wanted one that I could just drive normal without worrying about weird old car problems. I'll save those good times for my real true love.

Here was the alternative, but it had the oldest of the HT4100, needed new injectors and the front seat was practically gone. Did I make a poor choice?

The 4.9 deVilles are a great car, I had nothing but luck with mine! But get rid of the connie kit and gold grille. ;)

Even better that it's a coupe too! :highfive:

...I like the alternative much better, lol.

Still, get that coupe cleaned up, and maybe get some Fleetwood-style skirts, and it'll make a fine cruiser. By the way, good luck keeping that white cloth top clean, dark brown is hard enough. I'll be like having a huge white cloth napkin on top of your car! Here's a tip: Lint roller.

Thanks for the tip! I was thinking maybe I could sell off those accessories, to return the car to a normal look. But the canvas top is a little out of place. One neat feature is rear A/C; that's cool. Also the car seems a little more oriented for the driver, so I'll enjoy driving it, not just sitting in the back seat.

As for fleetwood skirts, I think that will take some modifying, right? The DeVilles have a ridge since there's no skirt, but the Fleets go flush with the skirt, right. That's why I never got skirts for my Brougham.

Looks like a "real" Cadillac to me!

Nice... I miss my Coupe :(

If you have any questions about the car, let me know.... even now I still remember quite a bit from mine.

'82 is nice... but the '91 will make a much better daily driver.... very good cars.

And the nice thing is...unlike your 307 Brougham, the coupe won't take 13 seconds to reach 60 from a stop! LOL!

Now that's what I'm talking about!! In the Bro, folks would always honk, give me mean looks, and pass me in intersections because I wouldn't go fast enough. Now I'll be one leaving the light first.

Don't get me wrong, I'll still love the Broughams. That's why my next one will be a 5.7L.

4.9 + lightest chassis it was put in (~3,500lbs) makes for a very snappy car to drive :)

Looks great....I miss my 91. That's my favorite FWD Cadillac along with the 79-85 Eldo's. I would defineatly lose the Conti-kit and grill.

Here's a fun thing to do with a 4.9....

While you're making a left or right turn, nail the throttle! If you get lucky, she'll spin the inside tire through first gear!

This thread is making me go look at a 1992 Coupe Deville with 68K original miles! :D

Sweet! Just be sure you're will to pay your $250/mo. in parking...lol. But I know stuff like that can't stop genuine Caddy lovers. ;)

Sorry if I'm causing an RWD mutiny...lol

I had a '92 Deville and the best thing about that car - the throaty V8 sound when you dig in. Rode nicely and was a joy to toss around. You'll love it.

Great car. Nice body style. Super engine. Don't buy an early Northstar.
