I've found a local CTS-V in my area. It was originally listed at 30,000 a month ago, and is now 29,000. It has 31,000 miles. Black on black. Comes with corsa exhaust and intake. Is this price about right?

Here's the VIN
1G6DN57S140164163

Thanks in advance for any help.

Warranty history...

It probably has a broken motor mount. Looks like the previous owner was complaining of the car "dieseling" after shutting the engine off. The dealer said that they compared it to another vehicle and that everything was OK. That usually the concern or description when there's a bad mount(s)...

OK, I might be new to this, but where do you see the "dieseling" complaint? I don't see it.

Overall, it doesn't look like it has had a diff replaced. That could be a really good thing. Possibly shows that he's not romping on it. What do you guys think that I should offer him? Should I buy this car or move on? Is it reasonable to take the care into a Cadillac dealer to have it inspected?

Thanks again for everyone's help.

Just a thought, look into the extended warranty (100K miles/6 years ???) and see if you can get the seller to drop the price to cover some/all of it. If you plan on keeping the car for at least three years and not go to mod hell, this may save you big dollars over time. Good luck with the V, once you own it, you will never part with it!!!!
Check the Forum's Classified section, always a few good ones in there.

You can't see it... On the first line of the warranty history is "Customer concern not duplicated". I looked at the claim information and the notes say that the customer was complaining of "dieseling".

Overall, I'd say the history doesn't look too bad. I second onebad's recommendation on an extended warranty if you are going to keep it for a while...

Thanks for everyone's help thus far. There's another 2004 V available in my area. It's listed at 30,000 with 30000 miles stock. Can one of the dealer's run a check on this VIN?

1G6DN57S640158987

Anyone feel free to give their opinions on which car they would choose. Either other way, I'll be purchasing the GMPP package along with the car. It really comes to purchasing the best car up front though.

Thanks again.

Keep in mind that the 3 items on 04/03/2006 are standard recall items.

All right, one more to take into consideration:
2004 CTS-V
32,000 Miles
$29,000 OBO

Comes with a corsa exhaust and intake. Does that affect the warranty? I haven't searched about warranty issues. I'm sure it's fine considering if something goes wrong and it's not the intake or the exhaust's fault.

I'd buy the one from Chesrown first.

I don't have clue about the intake. The Corsa exhaust however, was a GM licensed add on for the 2004 and 2005 Vs and should have no effect on the waranty. (GM has since gone to licensing Borla exhausts I am told).

Personally, I would try to locate one still covered by GM warr and with less than 24k miles. GMPP is very affordable with those parameters.

Tons of Vs out there. Buyers' market.

The problem with Chesrown is that I'm located in Arizona, as well as the CTS-V is not black.

Wouldn't the CTS-V with the exhaust and intake still be covered by Cadillac warranty? How much am I looking to pay in order to put a GMPP on a 2004 with approximately 30K miles?
