I think you can only get remote start for engines that are fuel-injected, but it looks like that won't be a problem with your HT4100. As for keyless entry, I would want it all the way, with remote trunk popping ability. However the electronic popper only works with the ignition turned on. So I don't know if that could be done.

i dont really care about the trunk, just the remote start and door locks. im just wondering about compatability... since my car is older and i dont know if a keyless entry kit is designed for newer vehicles

That is a good price!

I know my Dad paid ~$600 installed for the Viper keyless entry, alarm, remote start on his 1992 Brougham.

I love my remote start. I even had it on my 79 coupe with a carb... There was a company out there called la-z-start that used to make a kit for carbed cars... Your gonna love it.

Yes, I NEED it too...that's one feature that would be beyond useful for me, particularly in the morning having things already running for a minute or so before I take off.

REALLY wanted it even more after just car shopping with my mother, and playing with it on several new GM vehicles from the factory.

Preferably, it'd be a high-end alarm and remote start, BUT the issue that has kept me away, is I'm not sure of any shop in particular who for sure would do a great install, and not cause a mess. There's a few places, but it's one of those things where not being familiar with the car makes me worry, with screw-ups. Just like things to be as clean, and properly done as can be.

If I could get someone who was clearly an expert in installs, etc., I'd do it now. My 2ft range stock remote, with just the locks & trunk is nice...but stinks at the same time.

I have remote start for my 84 Deville, but their is something wrong with it,I push the button and it starts but then shuts off. If it does work it will not shut off unless i flip the off switch.

You installed your own, correct?

Any "Fleetwood specifics" with an install that are tricky or easier than your usual, everyday Camry, etc. that a system is installed in?

Sounds good. That's an older car, but very similar in regards to wiring and structure. Hope it goes well!

I got my remote start installed by a "friend of a friend of a friend" and it worked perfectly...for about 8 months. The resistor he plugged in to the ignition to recognize the same ohm readout as my key went bad. So now every now and then when I turn the ignition with my key, it'll give me the pass key fault error and not turn on. I turned off the remote start period and it still does it to me! If you self install, make sure you're a hundred percent. Cuz now I have to take it in to some other place because I kind find the retard who installed it.
