I'm always reading about California Escalade owners (speciffically our body style) having their Caddy's stolen. So I was thinking. :hmm: I think that cops in California should set up a sting operation. Park a locked Escalade with some nice wheels in a parking lot where it would be likely to have one stolen. Load it up with hidden cameras inside to get a good full description of the thieves. When they break into it and try to make away with the truck, electonically send a signal to lock to the doors, windows up, and shut it off. Cops move in, cuff em, stuff em, book em. I hate thieves.

As one of the unfortunate, 2x's in the past 8 months, I think your idea is dead on. There appears to be a big problem up in the valley area. Mine was stolen both times at the Topanga Mall in Woodland Hills. I suggested this to the head of their security and he just blew me off. The police were not any better because I couldn't even get them to show up to take a report. It's way over their head to do something like a sting. I almost get the impression that they see it as job security to keep the crime high. Sad isn't it?
They have more important things to do like catch murders, and car stealing takes a back seat, maybe it would be different if their cars were stolen. :(
I think that would be a great idea.
