Looks just like Destroyer's old Brougham. Nice look with the SS wheels.

Some don't like it, but you know I do:cool2:

They don't look as natural on the dinosaur body style as the '93-96, but still great regardless.

Thanks!

The SS wheels with caddy caps were a big upgrade to the stock flat hubcaps & white walls.... if I could have found some factory wires & Vogues for under $1,000 I would have put them on.

I like the idea of combining new with old, but not really my taste though, still cool looking

I like the look....I always wondered how they would look chromed.

So if the 77-92 is the dinosaur, what does that make the 93-96? The Great Blue Whale? ;)

I had SS wheels chromed on my 1996 as its first set of wheels. They were $$$$

I could not justify spending more than I did for these wheels on the 1992. It is nothing more than my daily driver.

My money will go into the 1996  T56 & forced induction by 2009.

Beautiful. What is the diff in 92 Brougham and 92 Fleetwood Brougham?

Technically, there is no "Fleetwood" for the RWDs from '87-'92. But since they were the exact same car basically, some owners still call them Fleetwoods. Cadillac dropped the name from the car since it had to go to a new FWD car back in '86.

Here's the breakdown: (1st is the base model, & second is the optioned model)
1980-1986...Fleetwood Brougham & Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance
1987-1992...Brougham & Brougham d'Elegance
1993-1996...Fleetwood & Fleetwood Brougham

Well, no shock to me, but Elias' '92 Brougham is already up for sale:rolleyes:

In its place is apparently a soon coming '92 d'Elegance...which I'm sure we'll hear about and see shortly.

Where the hell have I been, last car I saw you had Elias was the Caprice wagon. I totally missed you buying this '92 and ALREADY you have it for sale!. Sweet ride!. Same color combo as my '87 was except that one had a blue top (like the white on yours better).;)

Yep, and he even bought the '92 off this forum's classifieds.

We haven't heard anything about the mystery other '92 yet...but this one appeared on Ebay so quickly, I have to assume it was another instant find kind of a deal.

I wonder if this mystery "other" '92 is the '92 d'Elegance that was on the classifieds with the 5spd manual? It was/is a good price, I just don't have the money for an extra car right now :(

Well, the mystery car was a burgundy/burgundy '92 D'Elegance with 63k and the 5.7L. He put a deposit on it, only for the person with it to sell it out from under him for more...so that idea is out.

However, the '91, despite being so nice, is still going to stay up for sale...as after a week or so of loving it...his latest idea is a Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban. Can't imagine that will last long, if he finds one, but it's always fun developments to watch;)

Thanks for keeping everyone posted! I was on call all weekend so I didn't have too much time to post.

I have been test driving '95-99 Tahoes/Yukons/Suburbans and am still deciding.

I am also looking at a couple LT1 Roadmaster wagons, 1991-1993 FWD Coupe Devilles, and some Toyota Tacomas.

Winter is coming soon so I need a beater, help me decide! http://www.impalassforum.com/vBulletin/images/smilies/wink.gif

Take care,
Elias

I am still angry that I do not own your old '91 Brougham... so I have been keeping you out of the loop.. hehe

Thanks for the breakdown,80-96,I've talked to lots of salesmen on the phone
mainly about the 87-92 series, most of them call them fleetwood broughams
and it just adds to the confusion about what they actually are. I guess they think fleetwood sounds better.

Winter "beater" eh?? (since you'd never own a crappy car, a beater for you is different than a beater for anyone else :) ) I'd go with a '95-'99 Tahoe or Yukon...perhaps you could find a nice 1st gen Denali or maybe a two door Tahoe or Yukon too. Chevy small block, 4L60-E...your favorite drivetrain Elias in a handsome, rugged, yet still quite luxurious and reliable full size GM SUV... Do it!

I have nothing but praise for the Vortec 5.7 found in the full size Chevy/GMC trucks and vans. My last conversion van took me 35k miles (before I sold it) and I had to do NOTHING to it except for oil changes. My current conversion van has so far logged 10k miles since I bought it (75k total) and absolutely no problems. These IMO are the most reliable engines the General has ever built, moreso than the over complicated LT1 (which is one of my favorite motors as well).

Agreed. I've never heard anything bad, and they are less complex and/or a pain to work on than the LT1, for sure.

But, we shall see what he ends up with, for about a week or two's use;)

Also, hoping, that is, that the '92 beauty goes to someone respectful, for a nice dollar.

Aside from all those "dream" SUV's (Cayenne, Range Rover, etc etc) the 95-99 Yukon/Tahoe is one of my all time favorites. If I was going to get an SUV, it would be that...preferably in either the Tahoe LT Trim, or the Yukon SLT/Denali..and it would be a four door. LOVE those trucks.
