Not much out there scares me more then a spider ....

I have a wicked case of arachnifobia or whatever you call it ....

So im peacefully watching a episode of dallas cowboys cheerleaders when out of the corner of my eye i see something floating down beside me ....Ive had a dragonfly in here before , so i thought oh its just another one , ill get up and let the little guy out ...

Then the ****er landed on my hand ....

line a dime nickel and quarter up on a table , thats how big the body was ...****ing huge ass spider .....

I went to war ....instatly ....screaming and yelling like a little girl while lobbing all sorts of objects at the intruder ....

Sadly in the war against osama bin spyder there has been collateral damage ...

My vcr , my tv remote , my couch , a lamp , a jbl decade series floor speaker have all been sacrifced ....ive cut my leg wide open and have a nasty bruse on my foot from where the speaker bounced back ....

good news is ive killed the spider ....bad news is ive got a few trips to the dumpster tonight ....

I was watching Myth Busters the other night, and come to find out the Daddy Long Legs isnt the most poisonous spider after all. Sadly though I do know how you feel. Its definitely a real fear. I cant even go into a pet store that sells snakes.

I would hope what they said was that a "daddy long legs" isn't even a spider. They are called Harvestmen, they are arachnids, but not poisonous or spiders.

no they never did say that ....in fact i think they went as far as saying it did carry poison but the fangs were too small , they even showed the milking of the fangs with this tiny needle they made out of heated glass

well according to that site it may be possible to be a spider , ill have to see fi that mythbusters comes on againa nd if they give the scientific name of what they were testing ....because form that it doesnt look possible to milk a daddy long legs , and whatever it was they had and called daddy long legs was for sure milked

I just wanted to know the difference between them and from that learned a whole bunch I didn't know before. Also learned that Black Widows aren't always black, "Daddy Long Legs" weren't even a spider,"Velvet Ants" are not even ants, "June Bugs" are May Beetles, etc, etc :)

My favorite spider is the Jumping Spider (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_spider), specifically a Daring Jumping Spider. (Phidippus audax (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Phidippus_audax3.JPG))

East Texas + Black widows = scary day at work!! 3 days ago I carried a wooden pallet in from outside, put it on the ground to load it with freight and another guy I work with saw a black widow crawling around on it. Needless to say I was a but shocked and relieved it didnt get on me :suspense:

Lots of bugs and insects in east texas :)
