I am really looking hard to try and find the 18in STS OEM Performance Rims. The pic is below:

If someone is selling them or could find them for a good price please let me know. I have the 17in rims right now and I would like to put these on b/c it gives it a look of a 19in wheel and its original.

Thanks!

Now with my car I have the AWD. Will 18's effect the car a lot or be able to fit correctly?

Thanks!

They'll bolt right up, and ride should be very similar, with even better handling. Wheels and such off one STS fit exactly the same on another.

The issue that does come up, however, is that the stock 17" wheel & tire combo is smaller in overall diameter than the 18" wheel & tire combo (because they use the same/similar sidewall heights on both wheel sizes), so if still using the stock sized 18" tires, your speedo and all else will be off noticeably, with the full 1" difference overall.

Front: 235/50/17 --> 235/50/18
Rear: 255/45/17 --> 255/45/18

This is why the 17" wheel & tire combos REALLY do look smaller than the 18's, because the stock sidewalls are the same for both. The solution, I presume, is for either lower profile tire changeout (like a 45 or so sidewall), or a computer re-flash so the car is set to work with the 18" stock combo.

I just got an STS AWD that came with the 18s. How have people done with 20s? Any problem with rubbing and scraping? What size tires are you using?

Now lets say I wanted to put 20in rims on my car, I heard things that the AWD will be effected, is this true? Will it be able to work without problems?

Thanks!

Sounds like going from 17" to 18" would drop engine RPM slightly which might actually give an improvement in gas mileage.

Interesting I'm looking at the 18" wheels for my 2000 STS and my 16" are the same as the 18". I'd want to go with the recalibrate as the taller 18's would fill the wheel well better. JMO Mike
