hi im new to the site and what i am looking to do is hopefully get a couple questions answered. I have a chevy truck and i am ready to buy a northstar to put in it but i need to know what it takes to make one rear wheel drive. If any one out there could help me i would appreciate it.

A N* is, at best, a 281 cu.in. engine with little low-rpm torque. It would be FAR cheaper and easier if you were to look at Pace Chevrolet's catalogs and get a crate engine made for the job. There are NO mods for late N*'s that will make it any better for a truck......no chrome, no speed parts, no transmission adaptor plates, no accessories, nuttin' . Take the advice of an old OHV engine builder and stuff the biggest small-block into it that you can....

if he gets an 07+ STS engine its already RWD and its been hacked so he can do w/e he wants

True, but the systems/electronics/accessories required to get the thing to run would present some pretty impressive problems.....How much is a LATE N* in a crate, long block?

I agree, there are alot of better choices than the N* for your build. Its going to take ALOT of time and even more money to make it work, cool idea though. Personally I would drop a 454 big block or 383 stroker crate motor OR even better a LS1 or LS2. Then you will have a pick up that should outpace most any other truck.

Just use the 98 or 99 RWD Northstar set up:hmm: If you get me the PCM I will load the program. If you put the blower on it I can get that program loaded in it also:cookoo: I am 100% sure it will run and run hard. You can use a 2.8L 700R4 trans or any manual trans:hide: Stealth
