How do I get my onboard computer monitoring my system again?

I replaced my battery this morning.

replacing the battery is supposed to clear out codes. If the conditions which originally caused the coded to be set are still present, the codes will come back. Don't you worry. The monitoring starts when you turn the ignition switch on for the first time.
